Deepwater Ground Zero Flyover

Despite environmental organizations remaining oddly mum on the BP oil spill, one environmentalist took it upon himself to conduct a flyover of the Gulf region to get a glimpse of what was really going on at the site of the accident.

Sea Shepherd CEO, Steve Roest, flies at an undisclosed altitude to examine the situation of Deepwater Horizon. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society is considered a radical environmentalist movement known for their blunt, direct tactics. The video is dated as July 6, 2010.

Watch as he narrates his account.

I think everyone knows why the environmentalists are not saying anything.

Gulf UpDate

Massive Federal government failure.

You quickly figure out why the EPA oil spill emergency plan calls for "keeping the oil off the beaches and out of the estuaries. And why the president of the USA was put in charge by the OPA Act of 1990 to coordinate containment and cleanup.

Big Gulp And The EPA 15 ppm Requirement

This is, of course, a product of the EPA’s finally backing off on its stupid 15 parts per million water discharge rule, on day 85, rule which crippled the effort to skim oil from the spill for the first two months of this disaster. Something our Obowma should have done from day one, but couldn't until "day 85" when the beaches and estuaries are all oiled up.

This solution is far better than the others, the boomed shrimpers and other sucking clean up vessels. Due to the shallow draft they may not be deterred from working in shallower areas. They also have plans for little gulps, smaller shallower draft barges, should be available soon to start work.

Barges prove to work where other means fails.

Other news of interest, Obowma tries to ban offshore drilling, the third try after two other failed attempts with the court. The new third try is no different than the other two, and if I had my way I would enjoin the Obowma administration and prevent them from doing this again.

Good news is reported that BP’s deep sea robots have successfully placed the new cap on the well head. This new cap, weighing some 150,000 pounds, will have a tighter fit on the Macondo well one mile below the surface. Hopes are high that the new cap will be able to capture nearly all of the leaking oil.

The "A Whale" results are still not conclusive as the collection ports do not appear to be working as hoped. Modification and testing are continued. The "Big Gulp" ocean barges use just brute force to suck up the oil across their whole front section, taking in more oil than other methods.

But never forget, it was not until day 85 that the EPA dropped the stupid 15 ppm water discharge requirement.

Is This Transparency: New Rules

Effectively reporting on the Gulf oil spill is now a Class D felony, punishable by a fine of up to $40,000.

Big Government failure in one lesson. Why big government cannot do anything right. The OPA of 1990 was passed after the Exxon Valdez debacle, and supposed to stop this from ever happening again. OPA of 1990 spells out the president is supposed to take control of the emergency spill containment and cleanup. It was reasoned that only the responsible party could fix the leak. But the president could relive the burdens of red tape and missed signals.

Big government, massive incompetence, and threats, just to make sure you haven't figured out your now restricted 1st Amendment rights. And why wouldn't the Obowma administration want people to see what damage has really been done in the Gulf? You decide.

Here are the photos you should not see.

The US Constitution operated on two principles of keeping the federal government in check ... A free press, and the second amendment.

Obowma Regine Blocks Media Access To The Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill

So the new Obowma Gulf oil spill strategy is to suspend the 1st Amenmnet? Probably be OK with Kagan.

I wonder why the Obowma Regime would do that, do they think they can hide an oil spill debacle 25% the size of the Gulf of Mexico from the American people? Is that why there are no people on the beaches of Florida, because hiding is working so well? I got news for them, it is not working at all.

Must see video from a blogger:

Sen Lemueux: "It's Not Just Oil Washing Up On Shore Mr President, It's Failure"

This is his job ...

Unlike President Obowma, Senator George LeMieux (R-FL) has no confusion about just whose ass needs kicked.

ObamaSpill: Oil Spill Timeline -- Day 70

Did Obama sell out the American people to BP for an oil spill media blackout and money? If not, where is the news reporting? The mainstream media seems to be airing less information about the crisis rather than more. Anybody know why the net is swirling with rumor of widespread evacuations, and what about those two cleanup workers who have died? Why?

While the facts behind the fears of people in Florida have not been confirmed by the government or BP, they are all rooted in genuine threats to the safety of the public. The oil spill is growing. There is an enormous amount of pressure under the Deepwater Horizon well. The BOP is leaning “10 to 12 degrees,” according to Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen. And the existence of a ‘gas bubble’ under the well field has been confirmed.

While official statements may be designed to prevent mass panic, hiding information appears to be making people even more nervous. And we turned down more skimmers that could not meet the ridiculous EPA requirement of no more than 15 ppm in the discharge water.

Obowma INCOMPETENT big government at it's finest.

Miles of Oil and No Government Action in Sight!

Oil Spill Timeline from RightChange on Vimeo.

You quickly figure out that concentrating so much power in the hands of the federal government is a really bad idea. Maybe we need something like an independent, private Gulf Oil Spill Company. Ready to swing into action at a moments notice, with equipment at the standby ready to deploy. Instead we get the union thugs Jones Act ... Which should be repealed immediately.

Something like what Palin did in Alaska, maybe? I see BP finally bought the Alaskan skimmer -- The sad truth of INCOMPETENCE ---- "Red tape keeps prized oil-fighting skimmers from Gulf, coastline"

And whose red tape is doing this, Obowma's red tape. And who could cut the red tape, Obowma. And who didn't lift a finger, Obowma.

Or maybe we just need competent leadership.
