The Natural Resources Defense Council is asking a federal judge to stop construction of BP's planned $3.8 billion expansion — not a new facility — of its Whiting refinery in northwest Indiana. The group claims BP needs a more restrictive air permit from the state because the refinery would discharge far more pollution than what it's been approved for.
In addition to shutting down construction, the NRDC wants BP fined $32,500 a day for each day it has been under construction without the more restrictive permit.

Far too often, untrained peasants apply far too much fertilizer to their meager plots in the false hopes of boosting yields. The result has been a new kind of "flooding" problem, that of excess fertilizer runoff flooding into rivers and streams.

This is not easy to explain, so just watch the video.
I had no idea you could treat a cow like this, hook up hoses as if it were some sort of lab experiment. I guess if you don't care if it lives, then OK, it's in the name of science -- I think. What about deer burps, whales blowing in the air, polar bear farts, then there is all thee birds and fishes -- the possibilities are enormous.
Scientists are collecting cow farts and cow burps in plastic tanks attached to cows to study the effects of the cow farts and cow burps, on global warming.
No one wants to talk about volcanoes, forest fires and man set agricultural fires, do they? Burp ... And then there are the undersea methane hydrates burping off the coasts most places in the world.
I bet you couldn't think this up.
