What's Coming At Them

While running for governor, Sarah Palin is quoted as saying ...
"Having kids and serving as governor are entirely compatible", she said.

“To any critics who say a woman can’t think and work and carry a baby at the same time, I’d just like to escort that Neanderthal back to the cave,” Palin said.
That just about says it all, doesn't it.

Alaska 2006 Governor's Debate

Want to see how now Gov Palin did in the debate ..

A relevant debate with critical answers for Alaskans, “Top Ten Health Care Questions for Our Next Governor,” took place October 11, 2006

Another Fabulous Sarah Palin Video

Sarah Palin shines, and ignites the comedic passions of late night comedian Craig Ferguson. How can Joe Biden compete in appeal? Worse for the Democrats, she is fresher, more accomplished and more genuine than Barack Obama.

GDP Grows At 3.3% in Second Quarter

The economy shifted to a higher gear in the spring, growing at its fastest pace in nearly a year as foreign buyers snapped up U.S. exports and tax rebates spurred shoppers at home. Signaling there will be no recession, provided we get our act together and begin drilling for oil soon. This putrid nonsense that we can use alternative energy supplies is just utter nonsense -- There is no substitute for oil, probably within 30 years there may be, but not near term.

No oil, no economy, America runs on oil, for energy and countless other needed products. Elect Democrats, and yur freedoms will disappear, fast.

The Commerce Department reported Thursday that gross domestic product, or GDP, increased at a 3.3 percent annual rate in the April-June quarter. The revised reading was much better than the government’s initial estimate of a 1.9 percent pace and exceeded economists’ expectations for a 2.7 percent growth rate.

The destruction of the Democrats talking points means they now must lie to portray soup line America. There is always going to be some part of the economy that does not perform as well as others. The overheated housing market, with it's government sponsored loans to anyone, no down payment required, is a perfect example. -- Good reason why government should stick to national defense and keep the hell out of the economic side of things. For some delicious reasoning why, look up "ADDI 2003" if you want to see how and who caused the housing market to implode. After you read up, you may ask yourself, why would anyone do that? Because we are the government.

Did you notice, the Democrats last night kept on going, regardless what the actual economic numbers said. It's instructive to watch them just flat out lie in there speeches.

If you were watching the nightly snooze channels last night, you would have noted that according to NewsBusters, the networks featured the new economic numbers for exactly 13 seconds of air time, with two of the three networks, CBS and NBC, not even mentioning the GDP growth. I wonder why that was? You will have to take NewsBusters word for it, I haven't watched any of these nightly news channels since Dan Rather faked the Bush National Guard documents -- Then it was just too funny to watch Dan and the CBS boys and girls implode.

Yes We Can

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. As if we haven't had enough Kennedy dopes to last us several lifetimes, another tries for the gold ring.
Robert Kennedy, Jr. says the Goracle’s challenge to the United States to generate its electricity entirely from renewable sources within 10 years is not fast enough.

In solar energy resplendent border states of Arizona, California, New Mexico and Texas, setting up solar plants would prove cheaper than building more conventional sources of energy, he said. “These are the Saudi Arabias of sun.”

“We can build those plants anywhere, we can build them cheaper than nuke plants, cheaper than old coal plants, and cheaper than oil plants, and faster than any of them,” said Kennedy a member of the U.S. political dynasty and a senior attorney for the environmental group Natural Resources Defense Council.
So why the need for government subsidies? Probably because the costs don't work out, by a lot. Same thing that stops billionaire T. Boone Pickens. Otherwise, what stops you from building your sun fired power plants, your wind fired power plants and selling cheap electricity to all comers.

The notion of alternative energy is transparent, it obviously will cost more, a lot more.

I think you know the answer.

When Marxism Meets Freedom

Marxism cannot survive a free press ... When the two clash, the results are always the same -- The Marxist try and shutdown any dissenting points of view. After filing two legal briefs trying to get the Bush Justice Department silence a critical 'Ayers' add, now they are after Stanley Kurtz. Just like the Nazis and Communists in Red China, all freedom of the press must cease.

Obama campaign confronts WGN radio

Sen. Barack Obama's campaign organized its supporters Wednesday night to confront Tribune-owned WGN-AM in Chicago for having a critic of the Illinois Democrat on its air.

"WGN radio is giving right-wing hatchet man Stanley Kurtz a forum to air his baseless, fear-mongering terrorist smears," Obama's campaign wrote in an e-mail to supporters. "He's currently scheduled to spend a solid two-hour block from 9:00 to 11:00 p.m. pushing lies, distortions, and manipulations about Barack and University of Illinois professor William Ayers."

Kurtz, a conservative writer, recently wrote an article for the National Review that looked at Obama's ties to Ayers, a former 1960s radical who later emerged as a school reform advocate in Chicago.

The magazine had been blocked in its initial attempts to obtain records from the University of Illinois at Chicago regarding a school reform initiative called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, which Obama chaired and Ayers co-founded.

Obama critics were quick to suggest that political clout could be involved in seeking to protect Obama from embarrassment. The school later reserved its position and made the records available Tuesday.

On Wednesday evening, Obama's campaign urged supporters to call the radio station to complain.

The ones who will be really threatened with all this blatant anti-First Amendment attacks is the drive by media -- What have they to say ... crickets.

You would think the party of the KKK would not want to go there again.

Obama - Ayers, Terrorist

Have you ever been a friend or business associate of a terrorist? Not someone who, to your shock and horror, turned out secretly to have bombed government buildings. No, the question is whether you’ve ever befriended an unreconstructed radical whose past was well known to you when you entered his orbit and walked through doors he opened for you. Have you been chummy with an unapologetic terrorist who, years after you’d known and worked closely with him, was still telling the New York Times he regretted only failing to carry out more attacks — and that America still “makes me want to puke”?

Barack Obama has. Stanley Kurtz at the NRO is investigating the depth of that connection and where the $50 million in contributions to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, an educational initiative that Ayers was instrumental in starting and that Obama chaired in the 1990s.

Ayers Unrepentant for Weather Underground’s Violence in 1960s, 1970s

FNC seems interested has this update about what is in some of the boxes -- Stanley Kurtz is promising afull report.
“At the end of five years, will we have broken the mold? Not much seems to be bubbling up that is inspiring or substantive,” the minutes say, paraphrasing Obama.
Not much got done, but millions disappeared. The Chicago Annenberg Challenge, raised a total of $160 million for school development, and had little to show for the money spent.

Differences, Gustav IS Coming

Louisiana Governor Jindal has declared a "pre-storm state of emergency."
Gov. Bobby Jindal declared a pre-storm state of emergency this afternoon, announcing the mobilization of 3,000 National Guard with as many 5,000 call-ups possible depending on the course of Hurricane Gustav.

Jindal also has asked for a federal state of emergency, a request that has not yet been answered.

The governor's emergency declaration activates the state's hurricane plan that affects agencies across state government, as well as local parishes. The plan establishes protocols for mass public evacuations, sheltering operations and provisions for residents and first responders in a storm's immediate aftermath.

The guardsmen will be due to their posts by tomorrow morning, Jindal said, with their units ready to assist with evacuation and traffic management, shelter security and post-storm aid in the coming days.

Gov Jindal is making ready, preparing the emergency forces, making sure rations are positioned, making sure everyone knows their jobs, meanwhile -- Mayor Nagin, is in Denver talking to reporters about Obama and basketball. You would think the Mayor of a city devastated by a hurricane would be making sure all emergency plans and personnel are in place and ready for action. You would, except for the fact that Mayor Nagin is a Democrat.

Factory Built Nuclear Power Plants

China has recently completed a factory to build modules for AP1000 nuclear reactors. The 71000 square meter factory was completed in 11 months and can build the parts for two AP1000 reactors each year. China is wanting 100 Westinghouse AP1000 reactors to be built by 2020.

USA plans

This is very good news for the USA, which looked like until recently we were taking apass on new nuclear power generation capabilites. -- Now a similar factory will be built in Louisiana and operating by the third quarter of 2009. Westinghouse and partner Shaw Group are providing four new plants in China, and they have been identified for no less than 14 plants in the United States. Other markets are fast emerging. A global system of dedicated factories producing identical models should enable far greater standardisation of nuclear power plants - as well as speedier construction.
JM Bernhard, chair, president and CEO of Shaw, said: "After an extensive search of potential sites, the Port of Lake Charles was chosen because of its deep water access, its proximity to other important modes of transportation and the availability of a skilled workforce. The state of Louisiana also offered a very competitive incentive package that will help us continue to create value for our shareholders."
Toshiba of Japan - majority owner of Westinghouse - is preparing for future of nuclear power plant contracts by forming business partnerships with component suppliers, including Ishikawajima-Harima Industries (IHI) of Japan and Doosan Heavy Industries of South Korea.

Russia
is speeding up and expanding its nuclear power plant construction. Two reactors planned for 2016 have been moved up to 2015 and changed to a larger design.

Natural Gas to Gasoline

A Texas company says that it has developed a cheaper and cleaner way to convert natural gas into gasoline and other liquid fuels, making it economical to tap natural-gas reserves that in the past have been too small or remote to develop.

The company behind the technology, Dallas-based Synfuels International, says that the process uses fewer steps and is far more efficient than more established techniques based on the Fischer-Tropsch process. This process converts natural gas into syngas, a mixture of hydrogen and carbon monoxide; a catalyst then causes the carbon and hydrogen to reconnect in new compounds, such as alcohols and fuels. Nazi Germany used the Fischer-Tropsch process to convert coal and coal-bed methane into diesel during World War II.

A Synfuels gas-to-liquids (GTL) refinery goes through several steps to convert natural gas into gasoline but claims to do so with better overall efficiency. First, natural gas is broken down, or "cracked," under high temperatures into acetylene, a simpler hydrocarbon. A separate liquid-phase step involving a proprietary catalyst then converts 98 percent of the acetylene into ethylene, a more complex hydrocarbon. This ethylene can then easily be converted into a number of fuel products, including high-octane gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel. And the end product is free of sulfur.

"We're able to produce a barrel of gasoline for much cheaper than Fischer-Tropsch can," says Kenneth Hall, coinventor of the process and former head of Texas A&M University's department of chemical engineering. Hall says that a Fischer-Tropsch plant is lucky to produce a barrel of gasoline for $35 but that a much smaller Synfuels refinery could produce the same barrel for $25. Under current fuel prices, such a plant could pay for itself in as little as four years, the company says.

More at the MIT Technology Review.

The ability of these small refinery units to liquefy natural gas makes an intriguing possibility for transportation, since these liquid fuels, unlike ethanol, can be sent down the same pipeline as oil.

Meanwhile, nany Pelosi is still trying to figure out where natural gas comes from.

Floridians Want Offshore Oil Drilling

As discussion regarding domestic exploration for oil and natural gas off Florida’s coast grips the nation’s attention, new poll results today released by Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) demonstrate a significant increase in the percent of Floridians in favor of drilling off the state’s coast over the percent of those in favor this time last year. The McLaughlin & Associates poll, conducted last week, concluded 73.2 percent of Floridians favor drilling for oil off the coast of Florida – a 10 percentage-point increase over the previous year’s poll results.

Bipartisn support

Further, the results show bipartisan support of the issue with the majority of Florida Democrats (63 percent) and Republicans (84 percent) in favor. Seventy percent of Independents were also in favor of offshore drilling.

“We have been polling this issue for more than two years and the numbers speak for themselves. It doesn’t matter if you call yourself a conservative, a liberal or a moderate, the message Floridians are sending is consistently clear – we favor drilling, and the numbers just keep going up,” said Barney Bishop, president and CEO of AIF. “Washington, this is your wake-up call. Now is the time to break from traditional party lines and help alleviate our country’s dependence on foreign oil by listening to your constituents and their call for increased domestic oil exploration.”

More here from the Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) who conducted the polling.

Hell Freezes Over

California’s Santa Barbara County, site of a major oil spill that rallied opposition to offshore oil production 40 years ago, voted on Tuesday to support new coastal oil exploration and extraction.

The county Board of Supervisors’ 3-2 vote is largely symbolic, but comes amid a heated debate on lifting a long-time U.S. moratorium on offshore drilling to address a spike in oil prices that pushed gasoline above $4 per gallon this summer.

U.S. President George W. Bush lifted a White House ban on offshore drilling last month and pushed Congress to lift its ban. California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger opposes a return to offshore drilling and advocates investment in alternative fuels.

Global Climate Models, Nigerian E-Mail Scams

By Dr. William J.R. Alexander, Professor Emeritus of the Department of Civil and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and a former member of the United Nations Scientific and Technical Committee on Natural Disasters.

Dr. Alexander’s Key Quote: “I have no more faith in global climate model (GCM) predictions than I have in all those emails from Nigeria advising me that I have won the Lotto, or those proposals from rich widows in Dubai who have just lost their husbands, or from the less frequent emails from my bank asking for details of my banking account. These GCMs are mathematical dinosaurs.”

Excerpt: These alarmist predictions have backfired. Environmental extremism, and now plain terrorism, is causing tremendous damage to the image of science. It is exacerbated by the failure of conscientious scientists to raise the alarm. Remaining silent is a deliberate decision for which they can be held accountable. […] Climate alarmist theory has collapsed. Where did they get it wrong? The answer is simple. They boarded the wrong vehicle (process models) and headed in the wrong direction (they ignored the road signs). To put it simply, their models replicate the complex atmospheric and oceanic processes and their interactions. For given input assumptions they produce a single set of outputs. The models are fundamentally incapable of detecting changes in these processes. This is why the IPCC has been in existence for 20 years. It has yet to produce statistically believable evidence of progressive climate changes in sub-continental Africa or elsewhere. The best that they can do is to produce model projections of unverifiable and therefore unchallengeable consequences. This is also why it has to resort to terrorist approaches based on mathematical models instead of an analysis of real world observations. It is intended to create media attention ahead of the Accra conference. The Royal Society adopted the same tactics ahead of the Nairobi conference two years ago. I have no more faith in global climate model (GCM) predictions than I have in all those emails from Nigeria advising me that I have won the Lotto, or those proposals from rich widows in Dubai who have just lost their husbands, or from the less frequent emails from my bank asking for details of my banking account. These GCMs are mathematical dinosaurs. Modern laptops are not only more efficient but they are more understandable. The public no longer have to rely on the edicts of the high priests with their questionable objectives and lack of real world knowledge and experiences. The model-based predictions of the inundation of parts of Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula by rising sea levels are an example.

Drillers Win Big, In Court

This clearly shows the result of government interference in leases fro oil drilling and development that are released for drilling. You have to wonder, what kind of government denies people the right to access their own mineral resources. Notice that the story appears in the UK Financial Times and not the NYTimes. IO wonder why.

A US federal appeals court ruled yesterday that 11 oil and gas companies should receive more than $1bn awarded to them in 2006 after the government effectively changed the terms of leases to drill off the California coast.

The US Court of Appeals was upholding a 2006 ruling that the government had breached the leases when changes in federal law materially interfered with the companies' efforts to develop the oil and gas reserves off California.

The case points to the difficulties US oil and gas companies have developing oil and gas resources in the US.

Even when acreage is legally open to production, restrictive regulations about how properties can be developed have made it impossible for companies to follow through.

The US government had estimated the area contained more than 1bn barrels of oil equivalent.

Sen Biden's Iraq Vote

Sen Biden in his Senate Vote to attack Iraq, uses the main reason for supporting the resolution being 'an enforcement action'. This is 100% correct, and as anyone who knows the truth about the 'Public Law 107-243', known as the joint resolution authorizing the Iraq war will tell you, this was one of the primary reasons.

The joint resolution does not claim that Saddam Hussein 'has' WMDs but only that Saddam Hussein 'had' WMDs -- Which is 100% true. Iraq signed a ceasefire, did not surrender, after the 1991 Iraq war, and was required to meet certain terms and conditions if Saddam Hussein was to remain in power. Violating those terms, resumes the war. Sen Biden correctly acknowledges that fact.

From the American Thinker blog ...
Our invasion of Iraq was not based on a public relations drive; it was based on Public Law 107-243, otherwise known as the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq, passed by the 107th Congress in October of 2002 . (Herein referred to as the "Authorization".) It passed the House with a vote of 296 to 133 (by 69%) and the Senate with a vote of 77 to 23 (by 77%), including 58% of Senate Democrats. In short, it was overwhelming; it was bipartisan; and it was law.
From Biden's Senate floor speech is this final passage ...
What we have here, I argue, as the rationale for going after Saddam, is that he signed a cease-fire agreement. The condition for his continuing in power was the elimination of his weapons of mass destruction, and the permission to have inspectors in to make sure he had eliminated them. He expelled those inspectors. So he violated the cease-fire; ergo, we have authority--not under a doctrine of preemption. This will not be a preemptive strike, if we go with the rest of the world. It will be an enforcement strike.
Sen Biden spoke the truth

At the time of the start of the second Iraq war, there were 32 participating countries. The fact that Iraq was targeting U.S. planes, and firing on same, kicked out the authorized UN inspectors, was all the legal justification necessary to resume the 1991 conflict. Iraq had signed a ceasefire, had not surrendered and had in fact agreed to a series of terms and conditions, that if not met, the war was resumed. All legal, all proper, no lies, no need for WMDs to be found, just stratightforward ceasefire terms.

Why no Bush impeachment

There would be a whole lot of testimony and reading of the 'Authorization' that would be brought out that would make the carefully crafted "Bush lied" drive by media narrative inoperative. Couldn't have that, better to just stick with the drive by media lies.

So why did the drive by media lie about the WMD angle? Well they needed an understandable story line that they could feed a gullible public, hurt Bush and help Democrats. Sad but true, they lied to the American people. They now are getting their come uppance and are slowly going broke -- I say good riddance.

Sen Biden now says his vote was a mistake

It was not, his reasons were 100% legally and morally accurate, as were a large majority of the Senators who voted in the affirmative.

There are no Mulligans for the office of the President. Decisions matter and have consequences -- That you may be able to weasel word your way out of as a Senator, but not as Vice President. Words matter, remember that Sen Biden.

Green Taxes Kills British Goose

England is backsliding down the economic ladder as green taxes begin to bite. The hoax works, kills the economy every time.
Britain's economic growth shudders to a halt

The data showed the economy shuddered to a halt in the three months to July for the first time in 16 years and immediately led to predictions of significant interest rate cuts to revive the country's economic fortunes.

The slowdown has come as the pressure on families' finances reaches new heights because of the rising cost of living. It means Britain is almost certainly in a recession that will last until at least the end of the year, experts said.

Some analysts predicted that the severity of the slump could force the Bank of England to cut interest rates to 3.5pc or below to prevent the recession from becoming deep and drawn out.

The landmark moment came yesterday when the Office for National Statistics announced that Britain's gross domestic product - the most comprehensive measure of its economic output - froze in the second quarter of the year
Love those English, economic growth "froze" in the second quarter. That means in english it stopped, now it will drop. Green taxes are driving up the cost of living worldwide -- That's just what the Marxists want.

Obama's Early Mentor and Sex With Kids -- Icky

New details about Frank Marshall Davis, a black poet in Hawaii, who was a key early influence in Barack Obama’s life is revealed by The Telegraph.

Closer scrutiny of the important people (that is, the people Obama himself identified as important) in Barack Obama's life is proving to yield what can only be called a "ick factor." Jeremiah Wright, William Ayers, and Frank Marshall Davis head the list.

Frank Marshall Davis, the mentor described as "Frank" in Barack Obama's first autobiography, Dreams from my Father. Davis was not only a communist (a member of the actual Communist Party), but actually wrote about enjoying sex with teenagers, in a book authored pseudonymously.

It's Smug And Plugs

Iraq War Authorization vote Biden, AYE. With all the stuttering the selection process had, there must have been multiple turn downs.

First McCain ad on Biden.

Just three hours after the Obama campaign sent out its text announcement, the McCain campaign rolled out its first ad this morning, using Senator Joe Biden’s own words during the primary season about Senator Barack Obama.

From a debate in 2007, a clip shows Mr. Biden standing next to Mr. Obama. George Stephanopoulos of ABC News queried Mr. Biden: “You were asked, “Is he ready?” You said, ‘I think he can be ready but right now, I don’t believe he is. The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training.’ ”

Mr. Biden: “I think that I stand by the statement.”

In addition, the McCain ad uses footage from another TV appearance, where Mr. Biden said, “I would be honored to run with or against John McCain, because I think the country would be better off.”

Was Biden the 'desperation pick'?

About Those Windmills

How many windmills does it take to meet the power needs of a typical city?

At www.scitizen.com, Kurt Cobb worked the numbers. Generously, he presumed the windmills would use 5-megawatt turbines – generating three times the output of a typical 1.5-megawatt turbine. He compared that with a 500-megawatt coal fired power plant needed to power a city of 300,000 people. A typical coal fired power plant, he noted, would cover 300 acres, but use only 30 of those for the actual facility.

Cobb calculated it would take 233 of the very latest 5-megawatt wind turbines to equal the coal plant's output, since the wind doesn't blow constantly. Each would need to be spaced 2,065 feet away from the others (five times the diameter of their 413-foot rotors to prevent shadowing each other). Adding the rotor diameters to the spacing requirement equates to a 110-mile long line of windmills, half a mile in width.

That comes to about 55 square miles for the wind farm to power 300,000 homes That's to provide electricity for a town of 300,000 people. Roughly about one tenth the power required to power NYC. Well NYC probably uses more power than that, because of all the computers and stuff like that, but it's based on about homes for 8,000,000 people.

Tell me why liberals would rather see 110 square miles of windmills instead of oil well drilling on 2000 acres of ANWR. Just asking ...

Fire Melts Steel

In a sane world, this should shutdown the conspiracy nuts ... The NIST investigation into the collapse of WTC Bldg 7 has been completed. It resulted in a series of recommendations for new construction and how to strengthen older buildings for fire resistance.
The fall of the 47-story World Trade Center building 7 (WTC 7) in New York City late in the afternoon of Sept. 11, 2001, was primarily due to fires, the Commerce Department’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) announced today following an extensive, three-year scientific and technical building and fire safety investigation. This was the first known instance of fire causing the total collapse of a tall building, the agency stated as it released for public comment its WTC investigation report and 13 recommendations for improving building and fire safety.
A cascading collapse of the type that took down Bldg 7 is quite unusual, but the building met the building codes in effect at the time of construction. The improvements are targeted at improving fire resistance overall, and limiting damage of partial building collapse to other parts of the structure.

A summary of the NIST findings is here.

But who is to say the world's population is sane, they keep voting for the fools don't they?

Democrats Buyer's Remorse

The AP headline says it all ...
Democrats to review nominating process

Democratic Party leaders want to regain control of the primary calendar and reduce the number of superdelegates through a new commission announced Wednesday.

They also want to review the caucus system, which presumed nominee Barack Obama used so successfully this year.
Like most things that Democrats do, they in the end, work out poorly, with lots of unintended consequences. It's the burden of control freaks to try and run the whole show, from womb to the tomb so to speak. The process that was designed to insure that the Democrat's had the politburo elites pick their nominee has now turned on them.

Republicans just hold elections, what happens, happens. Simple, honest, time tested way to pick a candidate.

Obama National Anthem

Styled after the Soviet National Anthem by the Glen Beck Show. Now the change you want? Why not, it's what Obama is preaching, Marxism.

Obama Meets World

Look, let's be blunt -- A street organizer isn't a very big job, nor is a lecturer at college, and please, spare me the elected official experience crap, they just run, hide and obfuscate when the decision goes bad. Need an example of elected officials running, hiding, obfuscating, and in many cases just outright lying, look at how the very same Senate Democrats talk about their Iraq war votes then and now -- I rest my case with elected officials.

In the end, none of these positions carries the weight of responsibility for actions that the Presidency calls for.

As I see it, Obama spent all his learning time to date, learning how to speak, reading lines that are professionally written from a Teleprompter with the right nuisances and speech inflections -- it's called acting. But then the real world shows up, this is where you must have real world experiences or your answers sounds weird to the listener, it's called thinking.

Obama just sounds, weird -- Several of my neighbors bought the extra serving of Obama coolaide. In the last few days talking with them, they were, uh, umm, yes, ah, ummm -- genuinely embarrassed by what they saw during the Saddleback debate ... They are now like lost souls, their dreams crushed.

The actor can't think -- Like most actors, the fact they can read professionally written scripts goes to their head, and they begin to believe they can think in the same manner as the scripts. But then it all goes bad -- When confronted with the real world and it's rough and tumble, unpredictable ways, sadly, actors are at their core an actor, and you cannot 'act the real world'. We have many examples of this parading around daily on the TV screen. Empty headed actors, acting like deep thinkers -- Obama clones.

We call the actor bubble-headed or some such, don't we?

It's quite simple really, who Obama is, he is an actor. Not someone you want when you need a thinker or doer. That's why the McCain ad with Britney and Paris bit so hard, went right to the core -- And Obama knows it.

Obama is not ready for the job.

Obama, The Teleprompter

Reading professionally written lines from a Teleprompter screen with the proper emotion and speech inflections for the moment, I think they call that "acting" sir. The American Spectator picks up the line from here with ...
SCREEN SAVORER
According to several Democrat political consultants presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Barack Obama spent part of his Hawaiian vacation working on weaning himself from a heavy dependence on teleprompters. Even in what are staged as "town hall" events for Obama, remarks are scripted or formatted into bullet points that scroll on teleprompter screens. Obama has had several embarrassing events where the teleprompter either malfunctioned or the screens were not fully visible.

"He just locks down and can't get the words out," says one political consultant. "For such a fine speaker, it's really quite remarkable that he's had issues."

Obama's troubles with unscripted moments contributed to his campaign's refusal to participate in town hall format debates or discussions with Sen. John McCain, who feels much more comfortable in the unscripted moments.
I wonder, can he have a Teleprompter brought in whenever he needs to answer questions with Putin? Who writes the answers on the screen? I doubt the Bear will allow it in the room, what do you think.

Bear In The Woods

Ridiculous, The Gang of 10 Energy Plan

As usual, you can expect the Gramnesty branch of the Democrat party to lie through their teeth, with a smile on their face all the while. Like with the lies of the AMNESTY bill, similar lies are being told about an alleged deal in the Senate. Mavericks doing it to the original maverick. How cool is that?

The IER has done the heavy lifting and has analyzed the plan and finds it wanting. IER Analysis: Key Flaws in the ‘New Era’ Plan:
  • The Gang of Ten calls for additional offshore production in areas currently under moratoria, but proposes a process that fails to guarantee/deliver any new supplies whatsoever. New production on federal offshore lands is left to the discretion of several state legislatures.
  • Production potential is severely limited. Only four coastal states would be granted the ability to “opt out” of energy bans. Arbitrary 50-mile buffer zones would exclude potential resource deposits, such as the Gulf of Mexico’s Destin Dome, which is some 25 miles offshore.
  • The plan ignores the urgent national need to repeal the offshore energy exploration and production bans that have contributed to the very problem their plan purports to solve. It may even give the ban the force of permanent law for the first time ever. This is an especially short-sighted, as the Congressional ban is set to expire in less than two months, on October 1, 2008, which will open the entire 1.76 billion acre outer continental shelf (OCS) to energy production.
  • Spending $85 billion on tax credits, subsidies, and various other federal handouts in lieu of increasing domestic oil and gas production is the kind of failed approach to energy policy that helped deliver the crisis we find ourselves in today. Government continues to be the source of the problem; government-centered ‘solutions’ will only compound our problems.
  • Dedicating additional, inordinate sums to biofuel programs is especially unwise, as they represent up to 75 percent of the recent spike in food prices, according to the World Bank. They are not as “renewable” as their proponents claim, and may not even provide any environmental benefits whatsoever.

Click here for the complete IER analysis.

It's quite simple to understand, there is no alternative to oil, there are too many things that depend on oil. Like nearly all of modern plastics, lubricants and paving materials. Nothing in the next 50 years is likely to change any of this.

They further state, the $85 billion in giveaways are to be made up with in kind offsets -- Translation, taxes on oil companies or direct taxes on you. Either way, you pay for this nonsense. Government cannot make technology appear, cannot make this work the way they would like them to work, and cannot pass laws to increase energy supplies. Jimmy Carter, the dumbest President ever, already tested this hypothesis and found it true. All Jimmy Carter produced was a disaster for the economy. Which is where we are headed with nonsense like this crap.

Communist Utopia

Wonder what's in store if you elect Democrat Marxists? A little teaser, how are things going in Venezuela ... This one is for all you Marxists and liberals. Chavez is your hero, right?

Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez, in action:

• Establish civilian militias critics fear will evolve into Cuban-style community groups used to monitor and prevent “counterrevolutionary” activities.

• Give Chavez the power to expropriate goods from private business owners without approval from the National Assembly.

• Increase state control over food production and commerce, punishing business owners who fail to comply with price controls and other regulations with fines, indefinite closure or up to 10 years in prison.

• Give Chavez the ability to designate regional political authorities who could undermine the power of elected mayors and governors.

• Put Chavez in charge of a social investment fund for “excess resources” from state-run enterprises — including recently nationalized telecommunications, electricity, steel and cement companies.

• Support efforts by the Chavez government to create a socialist-style economy at the community level, providing for bartering of goods and the communal operation of “social property” businesses.

• Change the name of Venezuela’s military, now decreed to be “Bolivarian,” a reference to independence hero Simon Bolivar, whom Chavez considers to be the inspiration of his socialist movement.

See any similarities in Obama's speeches and plans, yeah, it's right there in your face.

Thunder Horse Crude Oil On The Market

After years of delay and design problems, BP has put the fruits of it's labors on the market. BP expects to have crude oil ready for pipeline insertion, beginning September. with prices comparable to Eugene Island's light sour, according to Tuesday reports from U.S. cash crude traders. Production at the Thunder Horse field in the Gulf of Mexico began in June, and by the end of July it was producing more than 40,000 barrels daily.

Thunder-horse is both a platform name and an oilfield name, the platform was damaged in the 2005 hurricane season, due to design errors in the platforms ballast system.

A New Ice Age Is Coming ?

May well be ...
A top observatory that has been measuring sun cycles for over 200 years predicts that global temperatures will drop by two degrees over the next two decades as solar activity grinds to a halt and the planet drastically cools down, potentially heralding the onset of a new ice age.

While the mass media, Al Gore and politicized bodies like the IPCC scaremonger about the perils of global warming and demand the poor and middle class pay CO2 taxes, both hard scientific data and circumstantial evidence points to a clear cooling trend.

Following the end of the Sun’s most active period in over 11,000 years, the last 10 years have displayed a clear cooling trend as temperatures post-1998 leveled out and are now plummeting.

China recently experienced its coldest winter in 100 years while northeast America was hit by record snow levels and Britain suffered its coldest April in decades as late-blooming daffodils were pounded with hail and snow on an almost daily basis. The British summer has also left many yearning for global warming, with temperatures in June and July rarely struggling to get over 16 degrees and on one occasion even dropping as low as 9 degrees in the middle of the afternoon.
A top observatory(UK’s Armagh Observatory) that has been measuring sun cycles for over 200 years predicts that global temperatures will drop by two degrees over the next two decades as solar activity grinds to a halt and the planet drastically cools down, potentially heralding the onset of a new ice age.

Stay away from political science

While the drive by media, Al Gore and politicized scientific bodies like the IPCC scaremonger about the perils of global warming and demand the poor and middle class pay CO2 taxes, both hard scientific data and circumstantial evidence points to a clear cooling trend. How is it going around your neck of the woods these days?

There is an unpublished paper by William Livingston and Matthew Penn of the National Solar Observatory in Tucson, which predicts, based on mostly statistical analysis of sunspot patterns, that sunspots will all but vanish after 2015.

Read the cited article here. The William Livingston and Matthew Penn science paper is available here

If you are interested, the UK’s Armagh Observatory is here, and the USA's National Solar Observatory is here. Lots of interesting science stuff at both.

In the end ... we don't know, real scientists know that

I think it safe to say, like most everything about the Earth's climate, the bottom line is we do not know, we do not know how the climate science works, we do not know what drives Earth's climate. But in the end, it's a much better guess that it's the sun, rather than some phony science about CO2 cocked up by a group of politicians and their enablers in the UN and national governments worldwide. One thing we do know, the current warming is not caused by man generating CO2 -- that we do know. There is no hard science that backs up the IPCC's AGW theory, except other theories and computer models of how they think it should work. It's all smoke and mirrors, not very well done at that.

If you are interested in how the AGW hoax has been perpetrated, go here and examine a key element of the hoax, the infamous IPCC hockey stick of reconstructed temperature.

Oil Use Drops, Dramatically

Where do you think all this reduction in oil use is headed? I you guessed higher taxes, you would be correct.
Total U.S. petroleum and other liquids consumption is projected to shrink by almost 500,000 bbl/d in 2008 based on prospects for a weak economy and continuing high crude oil and product prices extending into 2009 (U.S. Petroleum Products Consumption Growth).

Preliminary June and July 2008 weekly survey data indicate that year-over-year declines in total consumption, which began in August 2007, have narrowed since earlier this year. During the first 5 months of 2008, total petroleum consumption fell by an average of almost 900,000 bbl/d from the same period in 2007. During June and July, the year-over-year declines narrowed to just over 400,000 bbl/d. The year-over-year declines in consumption are not expected to be as large over the forecast period, with 2009 average total consumption about 120,000 bbl/d lower than the 2008 average.
U.S. oil demand during the first half of 2008 fell by an average 800,000 barrels per day compared with the same period a year ago, the biggest volume decline in 26 years, according to the EIA.

The Energy Department's analytical staff predicts continued falling oil demand, and for the first time is predicting that U.S. petroleum consumption in 2009 will be lower than 2008, which would be a drop in annual demand for three years in a row.

We now have the effect of high energy prices starting to really bite. Economic activity is falling, demand for energy is falling, the economy is falling. Won't be long before the recession beckons. All avoidable, if we started drilling, but the Democrat Marxists want high energy prices, constricted economy and no growth for America.

Never thought I would see the day when the liberals were out in the sunshine for all to see what they have in store for America. I never have understood why anyone would vote for a Democrat, unless they are not sane -- I'm thinking.

BTW, world demand is also dropping as economies around the world begin to contract. The lesson here, the dollar is rising, as most think America will lead the way out of the looming disaster. Not with Obama in charge.

Demand is down, supply is down, the causality is the U.S. economy. Democrat Marxist's recession ahead.

EIA report is here.

Where Are The Peace Protesters ?

WAR FOR OIL ---

Victor Davis Hansen sums it up thus ...
The long-suffering Russian people resent the loss of global influence and empire, but not necessarily the Soviet Union and its gulags that once ensured such stature. The invasion restores a sense of Russian nationalism and power to its populace without the stink of Stalinism, and is indeed cloaked as a sort of humanitarian intervention on behalf of beleaguered Ossetians.

There will be no Russian demonstrations about an “illegal war,” much less nonsense about “blood for oil,” but instead rejoicing at the payback of an uppity former province that felt its Western credentials somehow trumped Russian tanks. How ironic that the Western heartthrob, the old Marxist Mikhail Gorbachev, is now both lamenting Western encouragement of Georgian “aggression,” while simultaneously gloating over the return of Russian military daring.

...

The Russians have sized up the moral bankruptcy of the Western Left. They know that half-a-million Europeans would turn out to damn their patron the United States for removing a dictator and fostering democracy, but not more than a half-dozen would do the same to criticize their long-time enemy from bombing a constitutional state.
I might also add, the Russians have taken the measure of Obama and found him just right for their plans to rebuild the Soviet Union, and decided to roll troops into Georgia. Not a good sign.

Remember Jimmy Carter? Yes that one, the doofus President? Well he set the mullahs up in Iran so they could have a nice country terror base, plenty of oil money to fund terrorists, and then they could spread their terror worldwide.

Code Pinkers, the Georgians need you now. How about a bus load of human shields. Pick your best. Or are you just another tool of the Democrat Marxists in Congress, seems so. You International peaceniks, Amnesty International, chime in anytime .... crickets, all I hear is crickets. Damn crickets.

The UN IPCC Hockey Stick, The Cliff Notes Version

The intrigue and shenanigans to track down the truth and get to the bottom about the "Mann hockey stick" has now been told, in easy to understand "Cliff Note" format. It's obvious the intent was to get the bogus information into the 2005 IPCC report, so that politicians could then use that report to bludgeon the public with the global warming hoax. It couldn't last forever, and finally a few weeks back, the tale came to an end.
That the statistical foundations on which they had built this paleoclimate castle were a swamp of misrepresentation, deceit and malfeasance was, to Wahl and Amman, an irrelevance. For political and public consumption, the hockey stick still lived, ready to guide political decision-making for years to come.
The hockey stick is a fraud, total fraud, based on faked information when the real calculation would not support the conclusions needed. Bishop Hill, who is not a Bishop and lives on a hill in Scotland, has produced a Cliff Notes version of Climate Audit's Hockey Stick investigation in Caspar and the Jesus paper.

Steve McImtyre's post with the final runs of the statistics program "R" are here.

55% Say Media Bias Bigger Problem Than Campaign Cash

The people are getting smarter. After the Edwards affair, and the media hiding the facts for months from the public, no clearer test of drive by media bias has ever been. Because John Edwards was a Democrat, that made all the difference in the world. Want proof? Do you remember the McCain love story front page on the New York Times? You do, you also know the story was a lie, and eventually the New York Times admitted it wasn't true. So why print the McCain false story, but not the true story about John Edwards? Rasmussen has some answers for you.
Voters overwhelmingly believe that politicians will “break the rules to help people who give them a lot of money,” but most say there’s a bigger problem in politics today—media bias.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 55% believe media bias is more of a problem than big campaign contributions. Thirty-six percent (36%) disagree and think that campaign cash is a bigger problem.

People believe media bias is a bigger problem even though 63% believe most politicians will break the rules to help campaign contributors. Just 14% believe most politicians would refrain from breaking the rules for a donor. Forty-four percent (44%) say that lobbyists and campaign contributors have too much influence on John McCain’s positions. Forty percent (40%) say the same about Barack Obama.
You here that John McCAin? The money problem is easily solved with full disclosure, on the Internet, say within 48 hours of recieving the contribution, and making all organizations who do political work for cash filing with the SEC. The Internet makes it easy to solve the money problem ... The people will solve the bias problem for themselvss.

All Of The Above

American Energy Act (H.R. 6566), the House GOP’s “all of the above” energy plan to lower gas prices.

To increase the supply American-made energy in environmentally sound ways, the legislation will:

* Open our deep water ocean resources, which will provide an additional three million barrels of oil per day, as well as 76 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, as proposed in H.R. 6108 by Rep. Sue Myrick (R-NC). Rep. John Peterson (R-PA) has also worked tirelessly on this issue.

* Open the Arctic coastal plain, which will provide an additional one million barrels of oil per day, as proposed in H.R. 6107 by Rep. Don Young (R-AK);

* Allow development of our nation’s shale oil resources, which could provide an additional 2.5 million barrels of oil per day, as proposed in H.R. 6138 by Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI); and

* Increase the supply of gas at the pump by cutting bureaucratic red tape that essentially blocks construction of new refineries, as proposed in H.R. 6139 by Reps. Heather Wilson (R-NM) and Joe Pitts (R-PA).

To improve energy conservation and efficiency, the legislation will:

* Provide tax incentives for businesses and families that purchase more fuel efficient vehicles, as proposed in H.R. 1618 and H.R. 765 by Reps. Dave Camp (R-MI) and Jerry Weller (R-IL);

* Provide a monetary prize for developing the first economically feasible, super-fuel-efficient vehicle reaching 100 miles-per-gallon, as proposed in H.R. 6384 by Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT); and

* Provide tax incentives for businesses and homeowners who improve their energy efficiency, as proposed in H.R. 5984 by Reps. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD), Phil English (R-PA), and Zach Wamp (R-TN), and in H.R. 778 by Rep. Jerry Weller (R-IL).

To promote renewable and alternative energy technologies, the legislation will:

* Spur the development of alternative fuels through government contracting by repealing the “Section 526” prohibition on government purchasing of alternative energy and promoting coal-to-liquids technology, as proposed in H.R. 5656 by Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX), in H.R. 6384 by Rob Bishop (R-UT), and in H.R. 2208 by Rep. John Shimkus (R-IL);

* Establish a renewable energy trust fund using revenues generated by exploration in the deep ocean and on the Arctic coastal plain, as proposed by Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA);

* Permanently extend the tax credit for alternative energy production, including wind, solar and hydrogen, as proposed in H.R. 2652 by Rep. Phil English (R-PA) and in H.R. 5984 by Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD); and

* Eliminate barriers to the expansion of emission-free nuclear power production, as proposed in H.R. 6384 by Rep. Rob Bishop (R-UT).

Rush To The Arctic

This all started when Russia, which has claimed about 460,000 square miles of Arctic waters, last summer planted its flag on the ocean floor at the location of the geographic North Pole. Under the International treaties, the claiming of waters in the Arctic past the 300 mile Economic zone if prohibited, but so is the wanton invasion of Georgia. Russia does what Russia wants to do, if people or things get in the way, squashed.

Now we find the U.S. plans to fight back, for four years we have been conducting surveys of the Artic. Aided last year by abnormal sea ice melt, the survey is ongoing this summer.
More Arctic diplomacy ahead

... the State Department said Monday that two more scientific expeditions will head to Alaska this summer to collect data "in support of defining the limits of [the Arctic's] extended continental shelf" for the fourth year in a row.

"The first cruise, Aug. 14 to Sept. 5 from Barrow, Alaska, will employ a sophisticated echo sounder that will collect data to create a three-dimensional map of the Arctic seafloor in an area known as the Chukchi Cap," the department said. "The second cruise, September 6 to October 1, also from Barrow, will be conducted in cooperation with Canada."
It's all about oil.

This Is Al Gore Quality Science

And people wonder why Muslims appear a little 'off'. The clip is from Saudi Arabia broadcast TV.

This Is Just Strange

Why would anybody do this ...
Obama -- escorted by Secret Service and accompanied by a few campaign staff and a pool of reporters and camera crews -- arrived at about 4:10 p.m. yesterday and spent an hour with his 85-year-old maternal grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who helped raise him. He was not accompanied by his wife, Michelle, and two daughters.
Really odd for a family visit, wouldn't you say.

Top 10 Energy Questions For Speaker Pelosi

U.S. Congressman Kevin Brady

10. Two years ago, you said, “Democrats have a common-sense plan to lower gas prices.” Since you took over as Speaker of the House fuel prices have nearly doubled, which is punishing American families. Will you be releasing that common-sense plan anytime soon?

9. So far, your Democratic House of Representatives has done nothing but propose gimmicks. Your first energy gimmick was to pass a law that allows America to sue OPEC, apparently so we can become more dependent upon Middle East oil. This is puzzling to most Americans. Remind us again what that accomplishes?

8. Your second gimmick was “Use it or Lose it,” based on the notion that millions of acres of land with vast energy reserves are leased by oil companies but not being developed. Unfortunately, no independent geological association in America agreed with that wild claim. And during debate on the House floor, Democrats couldn’t identify even one acre where that was happening. How embarrassing was that?

7. Your next gimmick was to stop filling the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which is the nest egg for America’s energy security if a major foreign country cuts off fuel to the United States. You predicted that fuel prices would go down, but instead they continued to rise. Was that more embarrassing or less embarrassing than the “Use it or Lose it” fiasco?

6. Apparently assuming that failed ideas are reassuring to the public, recently you proposed to sell off 10% of our Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which you also predict will lower fuel prices. Unfortunately, that equals just 3.5 days of American oil, which changes nothing, so that gimmick collapsed on the House floor. Do you have any more ideas related to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, like selling it to China or donating it to a Hollywood charity?

5. You keep saying Republicans are beholden to Big Oil, which you despise and accuse of obscene profiteering. But I noticed your Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has accepted a whopping $809,000 from energy special interests this session -- which I’m sure you’ll want to return. I’m just curious, but when can those oil companies expect their checks back?

4. Turning to your unique interpretation of the Constitution, you have stated repeatedly that the House of Representatives will not get a vote on exploring for more energy here in America, such as in our deep ocean waters or U.S. Arctic Reserve, no matter that the American public supports it 2-1. In your mind, do you believe America is a democracy or a dictatorship?

3. Two weeks ago you hastily shut down the House floor, turned off the lights, microphones and cameras so that the American public could not hear Republicans debate the energy crisis and the need for Congress to stay in session to pass an energy bill rather than head out on a five-week vacation. Do you still believe in open government and the freedom of speech, or did all that change when you became Speaker?

2. Last Sunday on the news show This Week you said Republicans would have to “get creative” to receive an up-or-down vote on the House floor to explore for more energy here in America. Our founding fathers were creative, too. They established a legislative body where the pressing issues of the day would be openly debated and the majority will of the elected representatives prevails. Are you afraid that, if a vote were taken, you would lose? (Isn’t America supposed to be a democracy of the people? )

1. Americans don’t get a vacation from high gas prices, but you sent Congress on a leisurely five-week vacation. Republicans have stood on the House floor all recess and pleaded with you to call Congress back into session and schedule an up-or-down vote on exploring for more oil and gas here in America. Aren’t American families and small businesses who are getting hammered by high gas prices more important than your book tour?

(Note to Speaker: I’ll get some of my friends to buy your darn book if you’ll come back to Washington and get back to work.)

Coal to Liquids Technology

First is China, but now it looks like the USA is moving in the coal to liquids area.

First there is this going on in Benwood WV
The nation’s first modern coal-to-liquids plant slated for construction in Benwood may be the savior of the Ohio Valley, but not for some time to come.

... Coal can be converted to a synthetic gas using SES proprietary technology. The syngas would be used to produce about 720,000-metric tons per year of methanol that can be used as a feedstock for the chemical industry. Officials expect the project will be capable of converting methanol to about 100-million gallons per year of 87 octane gasoline.
Then there is the Crow Indian Reservation, who are signing up Friday to put in a coal to liquids conversion plant that should produce about 50,000 barrels of fuel per day.
The Many Stars coal-to-liquids plant would initially produce 50,000 barrels a day of diesel and other fuels. Crow Chairman Carl Venne (VAN) says construction would begin in several years and coal for the project would come from a tribe-owned mine on the reservation.

The Crow Legislature on Thursday ratified a 50-year development agreement - capping months of negotiations between tribal leaders and the Australian-American Energy Co., a subsidiary of Australian Energy Co.
The train is leaving the station. One thing to note, is coal to liquids can produce a delivered barrel of oil for the barrel of oil equivalent price of $30-40 per barrel. Ethanol is in the $4.80 a gallon for fuel.

Coal is the ace in the hole, shale oil is the second hold card.

Nuclear Power

Don't get too uppity thinking about new nuclear power and cheaper electricity. Sen Reid intends to shut you down at Yucca Mountain. Save the planet and all that crap. So what do Democrat Marxists really want --- To rule, that's it in a nutshell.

Dingy Harry promised the environmental Marxists he would shut down Yucca Mountain, as soon as you elect more Dims to help him do it. Send money to the environmental Marxists, help destroy America's economy. Do your part.

Another Country Explores Shale Oil Development

The USA has the world's biggest pile of shale oil deposits --- No, no, it's not the USA, where Democrats have things sequestered and waiting for the next wind powered car to emerge, it's Jordan.
"Negotiations with Shell to sign a deal to process oil shale in Jordan are nearing an end," said Maher Hjazin, head of the state-run Natural Resources Authority.

"If our plans succeed, it would be one of the country's largest projects to help the Jordan become energy self-sufficient, with a possibility to export oil in the future."

Jordan, which imports 95 per cent of its energy needs and struggling to meet growing needs, has the world's fourth largest reserves of oil shale, from which petroleum can be extracted by distillation.
Shell Oil, didn't that used to be a USA company?

Coal Is King

Here are the hard coal facts [Source: World Coal Institute: Coal Facts 2007: a .pdf version can be downloaded] to show you precisely why coal will remain King worldwide for a long time to come:

  1. +Coal provides 25% of global primary energy;

  2. +Coal generates 40% of the world’s electricity;

  3. +Over the last 25 years, world hard coal production has increased by 92%;

  4. +In 2006, estimated hard coal use was 5,370 Mt;

  5. +In 2006, world brown (soft) coal use was 914 Mt, a 0.9% increase over 2005;

  6. +Important recoverable coal reserves are available in over 70 countries;

  7. +The top 5 world coal producers are: P.R. of China (2,482 Mt); USA (990 Mt); India (427 Mt); Australia (309 Mt); and South Africa (244 Mt);

  8. +In Europe, the leading coal producer is Poland (95 Mt); Germany remains the world’s leading brown coal producer;

  9. +The top 5 countries using coal for electricity production (1995 or 1996 statistics) are: Poland (93%); South Africa (93%); Australia (80%); P.R. of China (78%); and Israel (71%);

  10. +Despite its ‘green’ image, Germany still relies on coal for 47% of its electricity generation;

  11. +The top 5 coal exporters are: Australia (231 Mt); Indonesia (129 Mt); Russia (92 Mt); South Africa (69 Mt); and P.R. of China (63 Mt);

  12. +By contrast, the UK depends on imported coal at 51 Mt....

Anyone who thinks that coal worldwide has had its day must think again.

‘Coal isn’t the climate enemy, Mr Monbiot. It’s the solution’ we require new coal power urgently to help us to fill our looming energy gap.

Obama On Russia's War FOR Oil

Ever diligent press, doing their job, putting out the truth. Just like the way they handled the Edward's affair.

But the public sees what the public sees, these days. John has more at the Powerline blog.

UPDATE: 7:00 PM
Full explanation of "The Oil Angle". It's all about oil --- So tell me once again why we aren't drilling everywhere in the USA?

Notice how Obama responded, the poor fellow is not ready for prime time in a real world. Maybe he is inflating his tires with the air in his swelled up head.

Olympics 2008

Obama Is Not A Natural Born U.S. Citizen

To Democrats, the U.S. Constitution is not something to protect, as their oath says, but something to be subverted, as their actions say.

Most people listening to Obama's speeches knows he is not qualified to be President of the U.S., but did you know he is not qualified either? Like Gov Schwarzenegger, Obama is not a natural born U.S. citizen -- According to the law. And is therefore not qualified to be U.S. President.

The U.S. Constitution has these requirements for President ...
No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.
So what is the problem with Obama's qualification, simple, he is not a natural born U.S. Citizen. Explains a lot of things, like his 57 States of America, why he never says the word freedom, or liberty in his soggy, soupy, speeches for ignorant people.

Details
Barack Obama is not legally a US natural-born citizen according to the law on the books at the time of his birth; a law that was in effect between December 24, 1952 and November 13, 1986, when the law was changed.

However, the new law did not preempt the former law in the cases of those born between the above listed dates when the old law was in effect.

Therefore, Senator Obama may very well be disqualified as the Democratic candidate in the upcoming Presidential campaign.

Presidential office requires the person elected to be a natural-born United States citizen if the child was not born to two US citizen parents.

US Law very clearly stipulates: “If only one parent was a US citizen at the time of your birth, that parent must have resided in the United States for at least ten years, at least five of which had to be after the age of 16.”

Barack Obama’s father was not a US citizen, and Obama’s mother was only 18 when he was born, which means although she had been a US citizen for 10 years, his mother fails the test for being so for at least 5 years prior to Barack Obama’s birth.

In order for her child to have been a natural-born US citizen, his mother would have had to be 21 at the time of his birth.

In essence, Mrs. Obama was not old enough to qualify her son for automatic US citizenship.

His mother would have needed to have been 16+5 = 21 years old at the time of Barack Obama’s birth for him to have been a natural-born citizen.

Barack Obama instead should have been naturalized, but even then, that would still disqualify him from holding the office of President under current law.

At best, Barack Obama is only a naturalized US citizen.

This is an issue that must be clarified before the election.

Naturalized citizens are ineligible to hold the office of President as is the case with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The problem is his mother, she would have had to be 21 before Obama was born, to meet the requirements of the law, she was in fact only 18 when Obama was born. So not only do we have a person whose speeches are not recognizable by most freedom and liberty loving Americans, he is not qualified as well. How cool is that? And I would bet his missing birth certificate says as much. Maybe Obama should try running for Citizen of the World President, or maybe moo-saih of the World, even better.

Read the rest here.

Did you know that the name Barack means "blessed by God" in Arabic.

UPDATE: And then there is the issue of Indonesian citizenship, why is the story of Obama so convoluted, and does he owe America a truthful version or are we to just try and figure it out through the jive talk? If that's the case, I say dump him.

Looks like Hillary plans exactly that scenario.

Obama Is A Kenyan Citizen

This was previously reported back in 2007 but didn't get any attention from the mainstream media:
U. S. Senator Barack Obama is a citizen of Kenya and became a citizen of Kenya under the Independence Constitution of Kenya in 1963. Obama has never renounced his Kenyan citizenship. He is also a U. S. Citizen.

“Under the Independence Constitution of Kenya, Obama became a Kenyan citizen on December 12, 1963. He has never renounced his Kenyan citizenship. On his senate web site, Obama tap dances around his own dual nationality when discussing his father. Obama obviously knows, because his father told him, that he also held/holds Kenyan nationality.

“Once again, we find Barry O concealing fascinating information about his identity. There is nothing unusual about dual nationality. Indeed, ancient Roman Law doctrines of jus sanguini and jus soli come into play, because both Kenya and the U. S. recognize dual nationality. Once again, the issue is not ‘legality.’ The issue is the cover-up; Obama’s concealment of his own identity. From us, and most of all from himself.
As far as I can tell, nowhere does he denounce his Kenyan citizenship. Of course, the fact that he is a Kenyan citizen is not mentioned on his campaign website.
