Florida A Step Closer To Sensible CCW

Thanks for all the hard work shuttling this through -- Not clear where our governor, who ran as a Conservative, stands on this issue. One way to find out. Citizens have aright to defend themselves, regardless where they might be or their travels take them.

"Florida A Step Closer To Guns In The Workplace"

The title of the news piece, isn't that daft ... In their usual distortion of the facts way, this so-called news story talks of "guns in the workplace". It is no such thing. This bill merely allows CCW holders to leave their guns locked in their cars on company property. I wonder why it's so hard for the LIBERAL drive by media to get simple facts right without the need to inject their LIBERAL agenda in the news story. One of the many mysteries of being a LIBERAL, it's necessary to lie about near everything. I don't pay these liebrals for anything anymore ...
The Senate is poised to give final approval next week to a bill allowing people with permits to carry guns to work regardless of their employers’ wishes.

The bill, sponsored by Sen. Durell Peaden, R-Crestview, has been one of the most heavily lobbied this session, pitting business interests that opposed the bill against the pro-gun lobby and trial attorneys.

After less than an hour’s floor debate Thursday — with opposition coming from a few Democrats — the Senate brought its bill in line with the version that passed the House last week.

The bill says private businesses cannot prevent customers or employees who hold concealed weapons permits from bringing their guns onto employers’ property as long as the guns stay locked in cars. It also grants several exemptions, including places such as schools (although not child care centers or pre-schools), law enforcement facilities and jails, airports and defense contractors.
