Rep Huelskamp took to the House floor on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, to discuss how the Obama administration is holding up the energy permitting process across the country as well as in the First Congressional District. He talked specifically about Sunflower Electric Power Plant and how a "death-by-litigation" strategy is being executed against the plant in order to keep it from going online. This plant would provide nearly thousands of jobs during its construction and would provide considerable economic benefits to the entire state. He also discussed other types of energy production that are being stifled, including that of gas and oil.
