How Not Grow the Economy

The capital gains tax was under assault last night at the supposed debate. The Democrats haven't a clue when it comes to the economy, how job formation works and how the economy functions. This was perfectly clear with the points about capital gains. Heritage Foundation has a retort to their ignorance.

You can also check in on their 'What Would Reagan Do' and see some of the history of Reagan, how he fixed the huge mess made by Democrat Jimmy Carter I and get a free US Constitution sent to you.

Global Warming Gravy Train

Global warming alarmists have discovered a new alchemy technique: they can turn thin air into gold by taxing emissions. From World Net Daily

And as a bonus, destroy American capitalism in the bargain. Democrats are so smart.

Hussein On Hot Seat Over Terrorist Connection At Debate Tonight

When your TelePrompter leaves the room, all you are left with is vacuous thoughts.

Got some more 'splaining to do don't you. The most radical leftists to ever step on the Presidential stage has been found out. Thank you Howard Dean for making the Presidential campaign last two whole years. They just couldn't wait. Swirl, meet drain as operation chaos continues.

Costs Soar for Massachusetts Health Care Law

You wanted, free, you got expensive ... And if that isn't good enough, the lament is it isn't single payer, the ultimate cost pit. Canada has single payer, and all the attendant disaster that brings with it.

But, but but -- I thought it was free health care for all. What happened? Simple really, try this experiment, offer free tickets to the next rock concert and see how many responders you get. When the stadium fills up, plan to build anew stadium, at taxpayer expense no doubt. When the new stadium fills up ... the end of the story?

It has no end. If you subsidize heath care, you will get all the health care you can support, and then some. It quickly becomes a bottomless pit of demand. Every hang-nail is now requiring a doctors visit and on it goes. The only answer will be rationing, as they found out in England, Canada and soon Taxachuesetts, The health care system breaks quickly as the endless demand builds. Since there are no longer incentives for doctors, i.e. profit, the lines just get longer as the doctors slow down as well -- Why work hard, you will have the same lines tomorrow. In France the health care system takes August off, it's too hot to work. Sick people ... ??

It's the major flaw in all 'free stuff' arguments, nothing moderates the demand.

So let's review what is happening in Taxachuesetts, other than for the moment, more taxes needed.
"It's the very first question I get when I'm with other governors," said Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick. "I don't think anybody is prepared to say that what we have done here in Massachusetts is necessarily the formula for the rest of the country or for a national reform, but at least we are trying."
Classic liberalism, it's all going to hell in a tax storm, but at least we are trying. Who asked them to try?
One of the most radical fixtures of the law is the so-called "individual mandate" _ the requirement that virtually everyone have health insurance or face tax penalties.

Anyone deemed able to afford health insurance but who refused to buy it during 2007 already faces the loss of a $219 personal tax exemption. New monthly fines that kicked in this year could total as much as $912 for individuals and $1,824 for couples by December.
Yes sire ree bob, mandates, otherwise known by free people as taxes. It's a tax, the ones that can are FORCED to pay the tax, the ones that can't are handed state money -- It's all a tax on working productive people, so liberals can feel good about themselves for trying. Note that they managed to scam a Republican Governor, Mitt Romney, into taking the credit, or blame as you will see.
It's not clear how many uninsured residents remain in Massachusetts. At the time the law was signed, estimates started at 500,000.
One of the first things every thinking person realizes about liberalism, the estimates are always low. Especially when it comes to costs for program or taxes needed for a program. Write that on your for head.
Businesses are also on the hook. Those with 11 or more full time employees who refuse to offer insurance face $295 annual penalties per employee. Already, 748 employers have failed to meet that threshold and have paid $6.6 million to the state.

Rick Lord, president of the Associated Industries of Massachusetts, said the state must be "very mindful of placing burdens on businesses that don't exist in other states."

"It's a delicate balance," he said.
This is where the illegals show up, off the books payroll.
John McDonough, executive director of Health Care For All, a health care advocacy group that pushed for the law, concedes it's become a political punching bag.
Yep, if the US were to institute the Canadian single payer system, I wonder how many Canadians would die. The Canadians are so smart, aren't they? Their economy barely crawls along, and what crawling it does is likely just splash from America.
"They said it would get us universal coverage and reduce costs and it's done neither," Tanner said.

The biggest challenge is rising costs.
Ah yes, the discovery is made.
In 2006, a legislative committee estimated the law would cost about $725 million in the fiscal year starting in July. In his budget, Patrick set aside $869 million, but those overseeing the law have already acknowledged costs will rise even higher.
And now the money quote, everything liberal is solved with more taxes. Climate change, more taxes, health care disaster, more taxes, education system failing, more taxes ... This time it's back to the ever reliable smokers, for another dollar a pack tax. How long before ...
Lawmakers are hoping to close the gap in part with a new cigarette tax expected to generate about $154 million a year.
Laugh laugh laugh ... cue the endless laugh track.

Hamas Endorses Obama

Junior Sen Hussein Obama just keeps lining up those key endorsements -- the Black Panthers, Jane Fonda. Now Hamas endorses Obama, which unsurprisingly supports Obama's anti-Israeli, and anti-American foreign policy vision.
A Hamas problem for Obama?

We don't mind — actually we like Mr. Obama. We hope he will (win) the election and I do believe he is like John Kennedy, great man with great principle, and he has a vision to change America to make it in a position to lead the world community but not with domination and arrogance.
When the enemy endorses your candidacy, you have a problem. Especially after meeting with Democrat Jimmy Carter. Hugs and kisses all around, I wonder what the Jews in America think of all this terrorist worshipping from junior Sen Hussein Obama.

Maybe that's why they call him junior?

Ships Impounded in Middle East Cable Cuts

Looks like it wasn't sabotage, reported by many sources, just wayward ship's anchors.
Dubai authorities have impounded two ships suspected of damaging undersea telecom cables in the Middle East earlier this year. One of the ships has reportedly been released after paying for the damage. The cable cuts, which disrupted Internet traffic in much of the Middle East, India and Pakistan, sparked a flurry of conspiracy theories that the series of outages in the region were not a coincidence.

Reliance Globalcom, whose FLAG Telecom unit maintains the cables, contacted authorities after studying the satellite images of the ship movements around the area of undersea cable damage. The Hindu reports that Dubai Port Trust officials believe the two ships, MV Hounslow and MT Ann, improperly dropped anchor in the area. The cables then were damaged by "jerks and force of the ship(s)" the port said.

The action was taken after Reliance Globalcom provided details of its analysis of satellite images documenting the ship movements around the area of undersea cable damage. "The matter has been brought to the notice of appropriate authorities which are taking necessary action," the Reliance Globalcom official told The Hindu.

The National Terror Alert reports that a Korean ship was released after an official admitted that the vessel was in the area and made a payment of $60,000 to compensate FLAG Telecom for repairs. The second ship, which belongs to an Iraqi company, is still being held in Dubai, the report said, quoting Dubai police officials.
Most accounts of the outages earlier this year have it that two cables were cut in one incident off Egypt and one more in the Gulf. There was also a power cut at the same time affecting a second Gulf cable, and erroneous reports of a fifth problem, which fuelled speculation regarding some kind of worldwide foul play.

Lego Star Wars

Cool lego video ... to start the day after the Democrat destruction derby last night. Yes I watched, the naivete about the economy and how it works would make even Former Democrat President Jimmy Carter winch in pain. These Democrat candidates are doffuses, and are doing nothing more than using class warfare to try and take over the economy. It looked like a debate of the politburo from the fell on it's face Soviet Union. Yes the economy and the state management of it, brought down the Soviet communist system.

Fake Gun Rights Group Endorses Obama

Hey, it provides window dressing for the dumb Obama voter. Yeah, that's right, Obama voters are dumb, uninformed and don't have a clue what he stands for or what policies he would support.

I've identified the ASHA before, as a "false flag" group, a fake gun rights group, bankrolled by who knows who to serve as a supposedly pro-gun group, but staffed by antigunners. ASHA nicely shows its true colors by endorsing Obama. I guess Hillary was just too pro-gun for them.

How is ASHA getting its money? My guess is it funded by some of those billionaires who Obama was speaking too in San Francisco.

Let Them Eat BioFuels

Food prices are rising, people are going hungry and the EU doesn't seem to care. OK, so people are starving because the world has decided to burn food to replace the evil oil.

Why not change, well it's obvious, because to do so would bring down the whole house of cards of the global warming scam ...

"You can't change a political objective without risking a debate on all the other objectives," which could see the EU landmark climate change and energy package disintegrate, an EU official said.

The article linked above is worth a look for the simple reason that it refers to the biofuels scam as a 'crime against humanity'. And it is ...

UN Special Rapporteur for the Right to Food Jean Ziegler told German radio Monday that the production of biofuels is "a crime against humanity" because of its impact on global food prices.

The hunger and starvation that will be on your TV screens within 12 months is a real problem facing real people today. It is going to be badly exacerbated by the past winter, which refuses to go away. Spring planting in many areas of the world is on hold because the ground is too cold and too wet for seeds to germinate. This is not a mythical problem made up by agenda driven activists that may or may not affect the planet in the future. Green activists seem willing to sacrifice real people for a myth generated by phony computer models. That is a crime against humanity.

They have done it before. Greens kill. They contributed directly to the death of 35 millions, mostly children, in Africa with the DDT ban, and now they'll let more die for a fraudulent response to a global hoax.

That is a real crime, and when we watch the familiar images of dying children in Africa I hope that someone will point a camera at Al Gore and ask him -- "Why?".

There is no alternative to oil, might as well face that right now. Unless we are willing to use technologies such as coal to liquids and coal to gas technologies, there is no answer. For fixed power plants we could always use nuclear, it's much cheaper than coal.

Recent oil finds and near production include the Bakken formation and by the end of the year, Thunder Horse in the Gulf of Mexico. In addition, Brazil says their new discorvered filed contains 33 Bbbls and will be in production in a few years. Now if we in the US could only drill off our coast and in Alaska -- WOW would that make a difference. Technology and time will do the rest.

Are you beginning to notice that leftists never seem to think things through before their emotions take over?

Liberal Ignorance on Basic Economics Causing Hunger Crisis

Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) admitted that some of his colleagues “had come to realize that Congress made a mistake in backing biofuels, not anticipating the impact on food costs.” He went on to say: “If there was a secret vote, there is a pretty large number of people who would like to reassess what we are doing.”
Liberals are basically stupid, they avoid reality and impose their own weird version. President Bush had a policy of 'try before you buy' limited testing, but that wasn't good enough for Liberals, they wanted full production, now. Who will tell the world's poor?

More here.
