More On Iraq's Nuclear WMD Program

IBD has a good summary of Iraq's nuclear program, you would think there would be a NBC Dateline or CBS 60 minutes show to update the public on this very important story. I wonder why not? Anyone who can think knows that Iraq was building inventory of nuclear bomb building parts needed to assemble nuclear weapons and when the time came, they would just throw the UN IAEA out on their asses and boot up their nuclear weapons program. Some have said it would have been less than a year from that point, experience with Iran shows it takes a little longer -- It's been a couple of years since Iran tossed the UN out on their ass, and Iranian nuclear weapons are coming down the road. Most experts say Iran is a year out from today. Dirty bombs much easier and much sooner, Iran probably could deploy them right now.

WMD: Hear about the 550 metric tons of yellowcake uranium found in Iraq? No? Why should you? It doesn't fit the media's neat story line that Saddam Hussein's Iraq posed no nuclear threat when we invaded in 2003.

It's a little known fact that, after invading Iraq in 2003, the U.S. found massive amounts of uranium yellowcake, the stuff that can be refined into nuclear weapons or nuclear fuel, at a facility in Tuwaitha outside of Baghdad.

The chemical weapons were incidental, anybody with the knowledge can build deadly ricine chemical weapons in their London apartment, probably designed to feign Iran from attacking Iraq while they rebuilt their nuclear weapons.

US Removes 550 Metric Tons Of YellowCake From Iraq

No WMDs huh? Yellowcake is the mined and processed material you feed into the enrichment process. The end result can be made into nuclear bombs. This is precisely what Iran is now doing. The difference is Iran has some Uranium mines in full production -- Iraq it is believed, had a yellowcake processing plant under the aI Qaim phosphate facility in northern Iraq.

The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program — a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium — reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.

The removal of 550 metric tons of yellowcake — the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment — was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy. It also brought relief to U.S. and Iraqi authorities who had worried the cache would reach insurgents or smugglers crossing to Iran to aid its nuclear ambitions.

What's now left is the final and complicated push to clean up the remaining radioactive debris at the former Tuwaitha nuclear complex about 12 miles south of Baghdad — using teams that include Iraqi experts recently trained in the Chernobyl fallout zone in Ukraine.

"Everyone is very happy to have this safely out of Iraq," said a senior U.S. official who outlined the nearly three-month operation to The Associated Press. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject.

While yellowcake alone is not considered potent enough for a so-called "dirty bomb" — a conventional explosive that disperses radioactive material — it could stir widespread panic if incorporated in a blast. Yellowcake also can be enriched for use in reactors and, at higher levels, nuclear weapons using sophisticated equipment.

Although the State Department in the memo tries to downplay the risk, THE BOTTOM OF PAGE 8 AND TOP OF PAGE 9 LET SLIP the truth that Saddam Hussein was seeking uranium yellowcake -- which was clearly for development of a nuclear bomb.

Read it all and then say Iraq had no WMDs or WMD plans three times while rubbing your tummy.

Israeli commandos seized nuclear material of North Korean origin during a daring raid on a secret military site in Syria before Israel bombed it this month, according to informed sources in Washington and Jerusalem.

The attack was launched with American approval on September 6 after Washington was shown evidence the material was nuclear related, the well-placed sources say.

They confirmed that samples taken from Syria for testing had been identified as North Korean. This raised fears that Syria might have joined North Korea and Iran in seeking to acquire nuclear weapons.
