Obamacare Lies

This week, MRCTV and BreitbartTV bring you an excellent and handy video of Obama’s favorite health care takeover tall tales in his own words.

All it needs is an “Unhappily Ever After” end page.

Sebelius Cracks! Admits the Obamacare Books Were Cooked

Shocked I assume, that the lamestream didn't say a word to the public.

The House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee invited Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to swing by and have a little chin wag about the budgetary implications of ObamaCare. Representative John Shimkus (R-IL) noticed that the rather large sum of $500 billion was dedicated to both sustaining Medicare and funding ObamaCare. When he asked Sebelius which destiny awaited those five hundred billion clams, she replied, "Both."

That's right, folks: another part of the ObamaCare fraud involved double-counting half a trillion dollars. Shimkus said he was "shocked" to learn this. "We knew the health care law's actual cost was much greater than originally told to the public," he declared. "And now, the truth is slowly coming out in administration reports and testimony." In other news, Shimkus was equally "shocked" to discover there was gambling going on at Rick's Café.

CBO: Repealing ObamaCare to Reduce Gross Spending By $1.4 Trillion Over Next Decade

Did you ever wonder why implementation of Obamacare is not until 2014?

Today Doug Elmendorf, Director of the Congressional Budget Office, wrote a letter to Speaker John Boehner setting out the CBO's current view of the budgetary impact of H.R. 2, the Republican-sponsored bill that would repeal Obamacare and related legislation. Elmendorf says that for the fiscal years 2012 through 2021, repealing Obamacare would reduce federal deficits by more than $1 trillion:
CBO and JCT [the staff of the Joint Committee on Taxation] estimate that the repeal of the provisions of PPACA [Obamacare] and the Reconciliation Act affecting health insurance coverage would result in a net decrease in federal deficits of $1,042 billion over fiscal years 2012 through 2021 (see Table 3). That estimate includes a $674 billion reduction in net federal outlays for Medicaid and CHIP and $677 billion in savings resulting from the elimination of the exchange subsidies and related spending. In addition, the repeal of the tax credit for certain small employers who offer health insurance is estimated to save $40 billion over 10 years. Those savings would be partly offset by lower revenues or higher costs, totaling about $350 billion over the 10-year budget window, from four sources: a decline in net revenues from eliminating the excise tax on high-premium insurance plans, totaling $111 billion; eliminating the penalty payments by uninsured individuals, which would reduce revenues by $27 billion; eliminating penalty payments by employers whose workers would receive subsidies via the exchanges, which would reduce revenues by $82 billion; and other budgetary effects, mostly on tax revenues, associated with shifts in the mix of taxable and nontaxable compensation resulting from changes in employment-based health insurance coverage, which would increase deficits by $130 billion.
It is critically important to understand that the CBO crunches numbers based on assumptions that it is given by Congress. The CBO does not comment on how plausible those assumptions are. Thus, garbage in/garbage out is the applicable rule. So when you get rid of the Democrat gimmicks, add in the taxes, and then use 10 years of taxes for ten years of services ... poof go the lies.

The Democrats are promising to make $1.2 trillion in future Medicare and Social Security cuts, to offset the $1 trillion additional costs that will be imposed by Obamacare. Whom are they kidding? The CBO has to accept the Democrats' assumptions, for purposes of telling the Democrat's lies, but anyone else would be crazy to believe them.

CBO: Obamacare Kills 800,000 Jobs

As Obama's laser focus on jobs continues: Congressional Budget Office Director Douglas Elmendorf testified today before the House Budget Committee and under questioning admitted what we’ve all known for a while:

The difference between the Democrats scamming America and the truth. So when Republicans say Obamacare is a jobs-killing bill they’re not lying. By any measure, it’s a jobs-killing bill.

Mr Obama, perhaps you are supposed to use the other end of the laser.

The un-Constitutional Obamacare

Cato Scholar: I’ll Defend the Constitution from Obamacare Anytime, Anywhere

First the George Soros lies, from the George Soros Center For American Progress(ives) -- The Center for American Progress positively beams that “the University of Washington held a debate about the constitutionality of the recently passed health care reform bill…[but] none of the panelists at the debate argued that the bill was unconstitutional because the organizers of the event couldn’t find any law professors who held that view.”

Muslims: Get Obamacare Opt-Out Clause

If you are Muslim you can opt out of the Obamacare health care reform laws with no penalties -- Here is what the regulations say:

EXEMPTIONS FROM INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
In the case of an individual who is seeking an exemption certificate under section 1311(d)(4)(H) from any requirement or penalty imposed by section 5000A, the following information:

In the case of an individual seeking exemption based on the individual’s status as a member of an exempt religious sect or division, as a member of a health care sharing ministry, as an Indian, or as an individual eligible for a hardship exemption, such information as the Secretary shall prescribe.”

Senate Bill, H.R. 3590, pages 273-274

There are several reasons why an individual could claim exemption, being a member of a religion that does not believe in insurance is one of them. Islam is one of those religions. Muslims believe that health insurance is “haraam”, or forbidden; because they liken the ambiguity and probability of insurance to gambling. This belief excludes them from any of the requirements, mandates, or penalties set forth in the bill. Amish are another group that gets a free pass. Christians, nope.

Cool isn't it? More here.

House Republican Leader John Boehner: Obama’s Health Care Proposal Jeopardizes Summit

Republican Leader John Boehner released this statement following the news that Barack Obama and democrats are proposing their same massive government takeover of the health care industry that was already rejected by the American public. Rasmussen in this Feb 11, 2010 poll puts the polls at 58% against, 39% for. Obama Rasmussen Obama approval now stands at 45%.

From The Republican Leader’s webpage:

GOP Leader: “The President has crippled the credibility of this week’s summit by proposing the same massive government takeover of health care based on a partisan bill the American people have already rejected.”

Washington, Feb 22 – House Republican Leader John Boehner (R-OH) issued the following statement in response to the partisan health care proposal posted online by the White House for discussion at the upcoming bipartisan health care summit:

“The President has crippled the credibility of this week’s summit by proposing the same massive government takeover of health care based on a partisan bill the American people have already rejected. This new Democrats-only backroom deal doubles down on the same failed approach that will drive up premiums, destroy jobs, raise taxes, and slash Medicare benefits.

“This week’s summit clearly has all the makings of a Democratic infomercial for continuing on a partisan course that relies on more backroom deals and parliamentary tricks to circumvent the will of the American people and jam through a massive government takeover of health care.

“The best way to protect families and small businesses in this time of economic uncertainty is to start over with a step-by-step approach to health care reform focused on lowering costs, and that’s exactly what Republicans are fighting for. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office has confirmed that the Republican bill reduces premiums for families and small businesses by up to 10 percent. The Republican bill reduces premiums by implementing common-sense reforms such as allowing Americans to purchase insurance across state lines. Despite their rhetoric to the contrary, none of the Democrats’ proposals – including the President’s – provides this much-needed reform in a manner that can actually be effective.

“Republicans are also standing with the American people by calling for health care reform to protect human life and not use taxpayer money to fund abortion. The Republican bill would codify the Hyde Amendment and prohibit all authorized and appropriated federal funds from being used to pay for abortion, which the President’s proposal would allow. Pro-life Democrats in the House have already pledged to vote against this provision. Health care reform should be an opportunity to protect human life – not end it – and the American people agree.”

The Obama plan proposed this morning still contains Senator Landrieu’s $300 million Louisiana Purchase. But Senator Ben Ben Nelson's 'Cornhusker Kickback' bribe is missing after he complained widely about it's inclusion. The simple fact is they took place is all you need know about the Obama process.

UK's NHS For Peasants Only

Want to see what ObamaCare looks like in the real world? Look to the UK's NHS for details. Seems once the health system gets completely screwed up, the government workers just go and get around the screw ups, all in the name of fixing the screw-ups I am sure.

THE National Health Service has spent £1.5m paying for hundreds of its staff to have private health treatment so they can leapfrog their own waiting lists.

More than 3,000 staff, including doctors and nurses, have gone private at the taxpayers’ expense in the past three years because the queues at the clinics and hospitals where they work are too long.

Figures released under the Freedom of Information act show that NHS administrative staff, paramedics and ambulance drivers have also been given free private healthcare. This has covered physiotherapy, osteopathy, psychiatric care and counselling — all widely available on the NHS.

“It simply isn’t fair to have one service for staff and another for everyone else,” said Norman Lamb, the Liberal Democrat health spokesman, who obtained the figures.

Oh Boy, Things Are A Popping ...

Economist Was Under Contract With HHS While Touting Health Reform Bill Remember when MIT economist Jonathan Gruber came out swinging so strongly for ObamaCare, notwithstanding its economic stupidity:
MIT economist Jonathan Gruber, one of the leading academic defenders of health care reform, is taking heat for failing to disclose consistently that he was under contract with the Department of Health and Human Services while he was touting the Democrats' health proposals in the media.

Gruber, according to federal government documents, is under a $297,600 contract until next month to provide "technical assistance" in evaluating health care reform proposals. He was under a $95,000 HHS contract before that.

But while he was being paid to provide his services to HHS, he was also fending off health care reform critics in the media. Gruber was one of the prominent analysts to rebut an insurance industry report from PricewaterhouseCoopers in October saying premiums would shoot up if a health care bill passes. And he has recently written columns defending specific provisions in the House and Senate bills, particularly the "Cadillac tax" on high-cost insurance plans.
It's the left that began the firestorm of attacks on Sneaky Gruber:
"I have never seen it disclosed that he was a paid consultant to the Obama administration," a blogger for Firedoglake wrote Friday morning. "For months I have been angry with Gruber because I thought he was simply an exaggerator whose dangerous love of the spotlight was hurting the efforts of progressives to make sure the Senate bill adopted more progressive cost control solutions. ... Now it is clear something much more sinister was at play."

The Daily Kos declared that, given Gruber's contract, the "fix was in" for the Cadillac plan.
But that's all right; Gruber insists that his dogged defense of ObamaCare has "nothing to do" with the nearly $400,000 HHS paid him.

Government Run Healthcare

Government Run Healthcare --- Story from the field the UK Daily Mail:

After months of excruciating pain, Mark Wattson was relieved to finally have his appendix taken out.

NHS doctors told him the operation to remove the ruptured organ was a 'success' and he was discharged from Great Western Hospital in Swindon, Wilts.

But just weeks later the 35-year-old collapsed in agony and had to be re-admitted by ambulance.
Enlarge Mark Wattson

Mark Wattson, 35, from Swindon may have been the victim of botched surgery after he had to have his appendix removed twice

To his horror surgeons from the same team told him that his appendix was still inside him and had burst.

In an emergency operation it was finally removed, leaving Mr Wattson fearing another organ may have been taken out during the first procedure.

The blunder has left Mr Wattson jobless as bosses at JJB Sports, where he worked as a shop assistant, didn't believe his story and sacked him.

Last night, as an internal investigation began, Mr Wattson told of the moment he realised what had happened.

'I was lying on a stretcher in terrible pain and a doctor came up to me and said that my appendix had burst,' he said.

'I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I told these people I had my appendix out just four weeks earlier but there it was on the scanner screen for all to see.

'I thought: "What the hell did they slice me open for in the first place"?

'I feel that if the surgery had been done correctly in the first place I wouldn't be in the mess I am today. I'm disgusted by the whole experience.'

Mr Wattson first went under the knife on July 7 after his appendix ruptured and left him with severe abdominal pain for several weeks.

He was discharged the next day but exactly a month later he had to dial 999 after collapsing in agony while job-hunting in Swindon.

Following the second operation his appendectomy incision became infected leaving a hole in his stomach 4cm deep and 2cm wide.

Jefferson On Obamacare
