Gov Crist's Folly

In a nutshell, another liberal pipe dream. Freeze rates on hurricane insurance, but one flaw, good time Gov Charlie Crist can't freeze the risk. And insurance companies are not going to operate where the payment is fixed and the risk is varied. The bigger flaw, the freebie, is that if the premiums don't cover the damage, the taxpayers must.
Soon after entering office, Charlie fulfilled his promise to cut hurricane premiums by turning state-run Citizens Property Insurance into a coastal welfare agency. He froze rates, selling policies at discounts.

The problem with a welfare program is that the longer it goes on, the harder it is to wean people off it.

But that is the mission of a state panel, which is coming up with recommendations to undo Charlie's meddling in the insurance market before he bankrupts the state.
The old freebie ruse to win election, anyone else know someone who recently did this? What was that promise, which one, you know the 95% will get tax cuts? Hah ..

So now the state of Florida representatives are saying no. By making citizens a competitor of the commercial market and the rates welfare rate low, people canceled there regular insurance, as suddenly the State run Citizens became a better deal, rates were frozen remember.

What they are saying in a nutshell is , there is no free lunch. Quick someone inform Pelosi and Obama, the SCHIP free lunch just passed. And here even illegals children up to age 30 get free health care. Smoke if you got them, we need you to keep smoking and get your buddies to start smoking. You see, cigarette taxes fund this joke.

And people wonder why Gov Crist is lobbying for the porkulus.
