4 April 2008 – Toshiba's US unit Westinghouse will receive orders to build four nuclear power plants in the US valued at a total 1.4 trillion yen ($13.7bn), Nikkei English News reported.Of course it would have been better to do what France has done, build nuclear power plants for the last 30 years so now they get 80% of their power from nuclear, but it's a start.
Bloomberg reports that utilities Scana and Southern are expected to commission two plants in Georgia and two in South Carolina that will have reactors capable of generating 1.1 GW, Nikkei said.
