It's easier to wreck the economy than it is to get one going. Much quicker too. Ask Democrat former Pres Jimmy Carter for details. His job nowadays is pounding nails, not by choice I might add :-)
Government control over the economy, you have wide selection of choice, you can go with socialism, fascism, Stalinist or just plain old communism. In the background are Lenin and Trotsky, two old favorites. In fact they are all famous, for the spectacular failure to produce a society that did anything but decay quickly to the lowest common denominator. Equal misery for all. The liberals holy grail.
