Obama == Jimmy Carter II

It's an older person thing, you have to be 50 or so to remember who Jimmy Carter was and what he really did. You must steer your way around the liberal tripe that has been spread about his Presidency, the greatest thing Jimmy Cater did was hammer nails for Habitats for Humanity. after he was tossed out after his one term. Jimmy Carter's crowning achievement was to give Iran back to the mullahs so they would have a nice base for global terror. In the bargain, the mullahs of Iran sparked the oil crisis and took our Iranian Embassy personnel hostage. The hostage crisis lasted until the day Ronald Reagan was inaugurated.

The hostilities with Iran continued through Reagan's Presidency, the Lebanon barracks bombing, Reagan sinking the Iranian Navy, blocking the Straits of Hormuz, Reagan ordering US ships to protect the ships ... and on it went. Compliments of the greatness of Jimmy Carter's foreign policy.

Now Carter thinks he is back in the game, wants to talk to Iran's Hamas terrorists and Obama wants to elevate the mullahs even further in the diplomatic game, by talking to them,

Jimmy Carter talked, talked and talked some more, and the hostages stayed right where they were -- Until a real President got elected. Last time in the 70s, the terrorists only had terrorists to blow up, this time they will have nuclear weapons. Does exploding nuclear weapons harm the environment? Yes, Israel has them too, which will make the exchange most interesting don't you think?

One of the more notable things Carter used to talk about "The world will be out of oil by the year 2000" -- Which we now know was an abject lie.

The most interesting things about all this is Obama isn't old enough to remember Jimmy Carter I or Iran and how the mullah's got hold of Iran and the oil there, or it seems to even understand. Gravitas, nope I would describe Obama as vacuous.
