In a quiet way, Packers Plus Energy Services Inc. makes bold claims. The Calgary-based company says its unique technology can deliver precisely-controlled fracs along a horizontal wellbore at an affordable price. "Without our StackFrac system, the Bakken formation in southeastern Saskatchewan would still be uneconomic for the most part," says Dan Themig, president of the seven-year-old private firm. "We're playing a similar role in opening up the Shaunavon, Montney shales and other tight reservoirs here in Canada and around the world. I believe our technology will also give producers the capacity to recover a lot more oil from mature fields."Here is a picture that explains how they do it.

Fracturing Increases Well Yields
