The Navy Just Released This Video Of The F-35 Being Launched By An Electromagnetic Catapult
New demonstration of the latest in aircraft launching catapults ...
In the ongoing PR battle waged by Lockheed Martin and military officials eager to keep F-35 funding alive, the Navy Public Affairs office released this video of the jet's successful launch from an electromagnetic catapult.
Military.com reports the next generation Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System (EMALS) was successfully tested in December 2010, when it hurled an F-18 into the skies over New Jersey and marked the first time in over 50 years that a plane was launched via anything else but a steam powered catapult.
EMALS will potentially launch a full ine-up of aircraft, including drones, while using less space and requiring minimum maintenance. The F-35 locks into place at about :35 seconds.

Crossing The Line
Cain accuser Ginger White was on Good Morning America earlier today.
Ginger White, the woman who claimed to have a 13 year affair with Herman Cain, devulged more details about their relationship today on Good Morning America. White said Cain took her to a boxing match in the late 1990′s and was giving her money for the last two-and-a-half years consistently.
The Hill reported:
In what could be a devastating blow to Herman Cain’s Republican presidential bid, Atlanta businesswoman Ginger White gave an interview to Good Morning America on Wednesday in which she divulged new details of her alleged 13-year-long affair with the candidate and panned Cain’s suitability to be president.
“I can’t make this up,” White said. “And frankly speaking, I wouldn’t want to make this up.”
White said that Cain took her to a Mike Tyson-Evander Holyfield boxing match in the late 1990s, and said that the former president of the National Restaurant Association had given her money for “the last two and a half years consistently,” but that the money was “not sex for cash.”

Never Before Seen Video: Obama “I stole ‘Audacity of Hope’ from Reverend Wright”
Last night a new video surfaced exclusively through The Daily Caller of President Obama discussing how he came up with the title of his book, “The Audacity of Hope.” The video comes from a democrat fundraising event during the 2006 midterm elections.
Obama praises Rev. Wright as he tells the story of how he got the title for his book
.
Mr G'damn America himself.

.
”But I tell you what: I’m confessing to all of you here today — it’s a big crowd, 2,000 people — I’m confessing in front of the TV cameras: I actually stole this line from my pastor, Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr.”

The 4Moms Origami
There are things you need to be afraid of when you’re a new parent. There’s gluten, pull cords, Disney products, and BPA, to be sure, but what about wild robotic strollers that look as if they’ll eat your wee ones in one snap of their plastic jaws?
Luckily, the 4moms Origami stroller won’t close on the little ones and is in fact a automatic stroller with a bit of a twist. Instead of pressing down on some hydraulics, this thing opens and closes with the tap of a button. It is, in short, pretty darn amazing.
The buggy has a built-in generator to power the closing motor and an LCD readout tells you when you can open and close the thing. Headlights near the front wheels keep you safe in dark caverns while the drink cosy on the handle keeps your whiskey snug.
The bad news? It costs $849, which is pretty steep even for some of the higher end buggies. That’s not to say there aren’t more expensive models out there and I’m certain there are no buggies that can transform and roll out like a Decepticon zygote, so this may be worth the splurge. Get the grandparents to pay for it.
Verizon FiOS Customers Can Now Sign Up For New Xbox 360 Service, Will Let You Control Live TV With Your Hands
Last month, Verizon and Microsoft announced a partnership that will bring live HD TV channels to Xbox 360 customers who have active Xbox Live Gold subscriptions. Through the agreement, customers who sign up for the service will be able to watch live TV via their Xbox, without having to purchase any additional hardware. Of course, the coolest part of the news was not that you could watch live TV on your…well, you know…your TV, but that you could control it via the Xbox 360 Kinect. Yep, prepare to channel surf with your hands and your voice!
The offer is now ready to order, says Verizon, which has just launched the sign-up form here for new FiOS customers. Existing customers can just call Verizon to add an Xbox to their current service. (Note that in addition to Xbox Live Gold, you’ll also need to subscribe to both FiOS TV and FiOS Internet in order for this service to work).
To encourage new sign-ups, Verizon is offering an $89.99 “triple-play” package with TV, 35/35 Mbps Internet and Verizon voice service. They’ll even throw in a 12-month subscription to Xbox Live Gold and the “Xbox Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary” game. The offer is good through January 21st.
OK, now for the bad news: the sign-up form is live, but the service itself is not. Verizon says the FiOS TV app will not be available for download until next month. This is how you’ll be able to magically control the live TV channels using voice and gestures.
The live TV offering will launch with 26 channels on board, including MTV, Spike, Food Network, Comedy Central, HBO, CNN and Nickelodeon.
As a part of the deal, Verizon is also running a promotion with gaming network Machinima to sponsor the Gamers’ Choice Award for the Inside Gaming Awards. Voters can vote via Facebook or Twitter (using #FiOSGamers) for a chance to win two years of the trip-play service, a multi-room DVR, Microsoft Kinect and 40,000 Microsoft points.

Gingrich Says He’s ‘Conservative Alternative’ to Romney
Chris Keane/ReutersNewt Gingrich, right, with Mitt Romney at a Republican presidential debate in South Carolina this month.
Newt Gingrich, who not long ago was urging his fellow Republican candidates to avoid tearing one another apart in pursuit of the party’s presidential nomination, took a new approach on Monday by explicitly declaring:
The comments from a radio interview on “Charleston’s Morning News” were among the sharpest words that Mr. Gingrich has used yet to describe Mr. Romney. Mr. Gingrich’s campaign swing through South Carolina comes a day after he received an endorsement from The Union Leader, the largest newspaper in New Hampshire, in an editorial that said Mr. Gingrich was not a perfect candidate.
“I think that’s right,” Mr. Gingrich said. “I think anybody who is honest about it knows that no person except Christ has ever been perfect.

“I don’t claim to be the perfect candidate; I just claim to be a lot more conservative than Mitt Romney.”With his candidacy on the rise, Mr. Gingrich opened a three-day campaign visit to South Carolina and warned Republicans to be suspicious of candidates who “adopt radically different positions.” It was a fresh glimpse into the sharpening tenor of the nominating fight as the first round of voting begins in five weeks.
“We think there has to be a solid conservative alternative to Mitt Romney,” Mr. Gingrich told WSC Radio in Charleston, S.C. “I’m the one candidate who can bring together national security conservatives, and economic conservatives, and social conservatives in order to make sure we have a conservative nominee.”He added, “I wouldn’t lie to the American people. I wouldn’t switch my positions for political reasons. It’s perfectly reasonable to change your position if facts change. If you see new things you didn’t see – everybody’s done that, Ronald Reagan did that. It’s wrong to go around to adopt radically different positions based on your need of any one election, then people will have to ask themselves, ‘What will you tell me next time?’”

These Time Magazine Covers Explain Why Americans Know Nothing About The World
It's not news that Time magazines uses different covers for its different regional editions, but it's only when you gather them all together -- so you can see what Europe and Asia read in Time compared to what Americans read in Time -- that it becomes clear how insular the U.S. edition of Time is.
If you live abroad, the current edition of time features a dramatic picture of an Arab rebel wearing a gas mask under the headline "Revolution Redux." In America, we got "Why anxiety is good for you":

Newt Gingrich Mocks President Obama-Hilarious!
“If he wants to use a TelePrompter, that’s fine… We have to be fair.”
Here is video of Newt Gingrich yesterday in Naples, Florida, where he mocked President Obama by saying that he would allow him to “use a teleprompter” in the “seven Lincoln-Douglas style debates” Gingrich will challenge Obama to in the 2012 Election Campaign. Gingrich said he would do so because he “wants to be fair,” and then quipped, “If you had to defend ObamaCare, wouldn’t you want to use a teleprompter?”
Gingrich then explained why he thinks Obama will take the debate challenge. He said one reason is Obama’s “ego.” Gingrich cited Obama’s Ivy League credentials, and then said, “How is he going to say he’s afraid to be on the same podium with a West Georgia college teacher.”

Microsoft Kinect
Craig Mundie: What's Next For Kinect
In a charming interview with Forbes Magazine, Microsoft’s Craig Mundie discussed future products at Microsot, including the success and plans for the Kinect as well as their mesa para computación, the Surface.
Most important to certain folks who like computers by Apple were his comments on Siri. Basically, he said Windows Phone has had voice control – namely simple commands like “text Mom” and Bing searches – for a year now. Duh!
He said:
Now does that say that Microsoft can’t market product? Sure. Does it also say that people don’t care about Windows Phone? Why not. Does it say that Microsoft has a huge gap to close? Absolutely.
Will they close it? Eventually, but it won’t be easy.

People are infatuated with Apple announcing it. It’s good marketing, but at least as the technological capability you could argue that Microsoft has had a similar capability in Windows Phones for more than a year, since Windows Phone 7 was introduced.

Occupy Wall Street, Extinct?
Must have been a comet ...
Two minute film shows Zuccotti Park, then & now
POSTED NOVEMBER 24, 2011 AT 7:34 AM BY MIKE OPELKA
Comments (0)The Blaze has previously featured video from OWS’s Zuccotti Park shot by SiriusXM’s Gregg “Opie” Hughes.Opie has admitted to the Blaze (and his considerable radio audience) that he originally was siding with the protesters and visited the park to document this historic event. What he saw changed his mind, and perhaps increased his desire to visit more often and record many of the characters and events of OWS as it evolved. The previous six short videos Opie shot and posted online document some of the madness and extreme personalities found at Zuccotti Park. And these clips have been viewed nearly a half million times.Today we offer Opie’s latest mini-film, “Occupy Wall Street, Extinct?” The clip delivers stark comparisons between Zuccotti Park during the height of the occupation and the recently cleaned-up, no-camping allowed space.(Content alert: Strong language… two protesters are heard cursing...)

'Company Policy: We Are Not Hiring Until Obama is Gone' (Video)
11alive
WACO, Ga. -- A west Georgia business owner is stirring up controversy with signs he posted on his company's trucks, for all to see as the trucks roll up and down roads, highways and interstates:
"New Company Policy: We are not hiring until Obama is gone."
"Can't afford it," explained the employer, Bill Looman, Tuesday evening. "I've got people that I want to hire now, but I just can't afford it. And I don't foresee that I'll be able to afford it unless some things change in D.C."
Looman's company is U.S. Cranes, LLC. He said he put up the signs, and first posted pictures of the signs on his personal Facebook page, six months ago, and he said he received mostly positive reaction from people, "about 20-to-one positive."
But for some reason, one of the photos went viral on the Internet on Monday.
And the reaction has been so intense, pro and con, he's had to have his phones disconnected because of the non-stop calls, and he's had to temporarily shut down his company's website because of all the traffic crashing the system

Fink & Gross Discuss Occupy Wall Street Politics: Voted For Obama, I Hoped For Changed, But Their Wasn't
Last night Bloomberg TV aired an hour-long talk with Black Rock's Larry Fink and PIMCO's Bill Gross as part of their Heavy Hitters series.
There's no denying these men know their stuff, so there were a lot of insightful moments, but none so surprising as when the conversation turned to the Occupy Wall Street protests.
Bottom line: These guys support what the protesters are doing. To them, the protests aren't strange — Americans have been through this before. This is just what happens in a country when people are unhappy, and they have a lot to be unhappy about.
Fink and Gross agree that Washington and Wall Street both need to sack up and take responsibility for what happened so we can fix our problems and the country can move ahead.
Here are the highlights, and the video is below:
0:28 — Fink: "I'm actually very happy with Occupy Wall Street because I think that actually for the first time in 3 years we may have fringe element symmetry...The Tea Party shaped the 2010 elections in a very big way and frankly I was personally surprised that we didn't have a left wing element...I'm not saying I agree with one side or the other, I agree with a lot of fringe elements and what they're trying to say."
1:29 — Fink: "We have to admit, as members of the financial press and the financial community...Washington...we really did let down a lot of people... To resolve this we have to admit it."
2:23 — Gross: "(I have) Sympathy for labor as opposed to capital...Wall Street as opposed to Main Street...that's the 1% versus the 99 can basically be differentiated in that way. For a long time, for 20 or 30 years, capital has benefitted at the expense of labor...How can one not sympathize with their predicament?...To not have sympathy with Main Street as opposed to Wall Street is to have blinders."
3:43 — Gross: "The fact is that Washington is dominated by K Street and it's dominated by finance and contributions from large corporations which don't have the interests of Main Street.

Expressive Video: Tatiana Limanova gives the middle finger to Obama
We didn't hear a whole lot of discord between Russia and the U.S. during the APEC meeting in Hawaii. But at least one Russian journalist found something to be upset about.
Russian news anchor Tatiana Limanova gave U.S. President Barack Obama the middle finger during a TV segment about Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's appearance at APEC.
It appears, based on the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the exchange rate of the Euro posted at the bottom of the screen, that the newscast was aired on Nov. 11. The segment was uploaded to YouTube on Nov. 19 and has gone viral over the web.
In a no-nonsense tone, Limanova introduces the segment by saying Medvedev gave a presentation in front of APEC organizers. Then she notes that the Russian president is soon to be taking over APEC leadership responsibilities that were previously held by American President Barack Obama. It's when she says his name that she jabs her middle finger into the air in the traditional obscene salute.
Limanova works for REN-TV, one of Russia's largest privately-owned news channels. The Moscow-based network has a purported audience of 113 million.

Newt Schools OWS
The poor American left.
After three years of disappointment and failure, they were so hoping the Occupy Wall Street movement would lift out of their doldrums. Unfortunately, the pot-smoking, pooping violent, sexual assaulting goons just haven’t quite figured out how to rally the country to their socialist positions.
To add insult to injury, the #OWS movement has now become a sick joke to conservatives and most Americans. On Saturday Newt Gingrich offered the #OWS goons this advice, “Go get a job right after you take a bath.”
It was too much for Mika Brezinski.
Mika lost it today.

Perry Ad Calls Obama 'Pathetic' 'Socialist'
Rick Perry's presidential campaign is out with a new ad, "Lazy," attacking President Obama for his comment that Americans have "been a little bit lazy I think over the last couple of decades."
After video of the president making that comment is shown in the ad, Perry, standing outside in a casual shirt, addresses the camera. "Can you believe that?" he says. "That's what our President thinks wrong with America? [sic] That Americans are lazy? That's pathetic." (Perry appears to have omitted an "is" from his comments.)
Perry goes on to say "it's time to clean house in Washington," an argument that squares with his recent call to overhaul all three branches of government, a proposal that includes making being a member of Congress a part-time job.

Steve Kroft reports that members of Congress can legally trade stock based on non-public information from Capitol Hill.
Senator Releases Breathtaking Report On How The Government Showers The Rich With Free Money
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), one of Congress' biggest deficit hawks, released a report on Monday showing that the federal government has paid over $9.5 billion in benefits to millionaires since 2003.
The memo is titled "Subsidies of the Rich and Famous" and addressed to taxpayers, and states that millionaires (those with an adjusted gross income greater than $1 million per year) receive benefits worth more than $30 billion from the government each year including tax giveaways and federal grant programs. And almost 1,500 millionaires paid no income tax to the federal government in 2009.
From tax write-offs for gambling losses, vacation homes, and luxury yachts to subsidies for their ranches and estates, the government is subsidizing the lifestyles of the rich and famous. Multimillionaires are even receiving government checks for not working. This welfare for the well-off – costing billions of dollars a year – is being paid for with the taxes of the less fortunate, many who are working two jobs just to make ends meet, and IOUs to be paid off by future generations.
The populist tenor could hardly be topped by an Occupy Wall Street protester — and this is coming from one of Congress' most conservative members.

Members of Congress can legally make trades on non-public information they obtain during their official duties, CBS News' '60 Minutes' reported on Sunday night.
Branded 'honest graft,' lawmakers can use market-moving information that they learn in congressional committees to trade on the stock market — actions that likely would carry stiff jail and civil penalties if they did not hold public office.
In one example, Steve Kroft reports that Rep. Spencer Bachus (R-AL), now the chair of the House Financial Services Committee, bet against the market in the days before the 2008 financial crisis hit — after getting 'apocalyptic briefings' from Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke and then-Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson.
Kroft also raises questions about the trading patterns of Speaker of the House John Boehner and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi — and the real estate purchases of other senators and representatives.
The report relies heavily on the work of Peter Schweizer, a fellow at the conservative Hoover Institution, whose work '60 Minutes' independently verified.
"This is a venture opportunity," Schweizer told '60 Minutes.' "This is an opportunity to leverage your position in public service and use that position to enrich yourself, your friends, and your family."

Watch the Full CBS Republican Debate
Tonight’s CBS/National Journal debate was held in South Carolina and the main topic was foreign policy and national security.
Perry Vows To Start Foreign Aid Budgets At Zero
If Rick Perry was the big loser in Wednesday's debate, then last night's CBS/National Journal debate also has an official whipping boy: CBS. Michele Bachmann is ripping the network for the lack of time she got, and she's got ammunition in the form of an errant email the network's new political director accidentally sent a Bachmann aide saying the Minnesota congresswoman was “not going to be getting many questions” because she was polling “nearly off the charts." John Dickerson was defiant, telling Politico, “Bachmann is at 4% in the polls. Other candidates aren’t. I sent an email based on that."

Newt: Yes we kill American citizens if they are overseas terrorists
Lamestream gets schooled ... Newt made clear his position on whether or not to give the kill order on an American Citizen who is an overseas terrorist waging war with America, and that position is ‘absolutely’.
Nice to see Newt smack that smug little smile right off his face.
And you wonder why the Tea PArty said nothing about Obama killing this terrorist ...

Monty Python and OWS
Life of Brian ---
Monty Python's Life of Brian, also known as Life of Brian, is a 1979 British comedy film written, directed and largely performed by the Monty Python comedy team. It tells the story of Brian Cohen (played by Graham Chapman), a young Jewish man who is born on the same day as, and next door to, Jesus Christ, and is subsequently mistaken for the Messiah.
The film contains themes of religious satire that were controversial at the time of its release, drawing accusations of blasphemy and protests from some religious groups. Thirty-nine local authorities in the UK either imposed an outright ban, or imposed an X (18 years) certificate (effectively preventing the film from being shown, as the distributors said the film could not be shown unless it was unedited and carried the original AA (14) certificate). Some countries, including Ireland and Norway, banned its showing, with a few of these bans lasting decades. The film makers used such notoriety to benefit their marketing campaign, with posters stating "So funny it was banned in Norway!".
The film was a box-office success, grossing fourth-highest of any film in the UK in 1979 and highest of any British film in the United States that year. It has remained popular since then, receiving positive reviews and being named "greatest comedy film of all time" by several magazines and television networks. The film is the first Monty Python film to receive an R rating in the United States.

Rick Perry
Texas Gov. Rick Perry, after offering up late-night fodder with his forgetful moment at this week's Republican presidential debate, opted to get in on the joke with an appearance on David Letterman's show Thursday night.
Capping a day of interviews in which he tried to laugh off the embarrassing moment, Perry gave the TV audience his own list of "Top 10 Rick Perry Excuses" for being unable to remember which three federal agencies he would eliminate.
In a separate interview on Fox News Thursday night, Perry explained that the campaign decided to have a "little bit of fun with it." His campaign website invited people to comment on which agency they'd like to forget -- Perry said the site got over 2,000 hits Thursday.
On Letterman, Perry chalked his brain freeze up to everything from Mitt Romney's good looks to a deficiency of energy drinks.

Going After The Commies What is the Intellectual Foundation for Communism?
Karl Roves group says it like it is ... Who are you fighting? And why?
Karl Rove-backed Crossroads GPS has launched an attack ad on Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren and "extreme left" protests.
"At Occupy Wall Street, protestors attack police, do drugs and trash public parks. They support radical redistribution of wealth and violence."
Showing mashed-up clips of violence and signs supporting socialism at the protests nationwide, the ad repeats Warren's statement that she "created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do. — I support what they do."
The voice-over adds "the intellectual foundation for what? We need jobs — not intellectual theories and radical protests."
In an email to supporters, Mindy Myers, Warren's campaign manager, attacked "Rove and his Wall Street billionaire buddies" who "have joined together to attack Elizabeth because she stood up to them."
"She's spent years fighting for the middle class and trying to get accountability for those who broke our economy one lousy mortgage at a time, and they know what they'll be in for if she wins."
The ad buy is reportedly worth several hundred thousand dollars — and is the opening salvo in what will undoubtedly be a long and expensive race.

I think people know me pretty well. Particularly in this state, state of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, this close by. Utah, where I served in the Olympics. People understand I'm a man of steadiness and constancy. I don't think you are going the find somebody who has more of those attributes than do I. I have been married to the same woman for 25 -- excuse me. I will get in trouble. For 42 years. I have been in the same church my entire life. I worked at one company for 25 years and I left that to go off and help save the Olympic games. I think it is outrageous the Obama campaign continues to push this idea when you have in the Obama administration the most political presidency we have seen in modern history. They decide when to pull out of Afghanistan based on politics. If i'm president of the United States I will be true to my family, faith and our country and I will never apologize for the United States of America.

Surfer Rides 90 Foot Wave, Sets World Record
Pro surfer Garrett McNamara broke the world record for the largest wave ever surfed at the ZON North Canyon Show this year. The wave was a staggering 90-feet high.
Al Mennie was in the channel when it happened (via Driftsurfing.eu):
“I had the best seat in the house as I was doing water safety on the ski as he dropped down the face of the biggest wave I’ve ever seen. It was incredible. Most people would look scared but Garrett looked in control as he went down the most critical part of the wave. It was an inspirational ride by an inspirational surfer.”
Here's the video of McNamara's incredible feat. It's absolutely wild:

Sarah Palin, Sept 3 Iowa Speech
Psst! Just Asking! Have any of the actual GOP candidates given a speech as good as Sarah Palin’s “crony capitalism” talk in Iowa on September 3?
It took a concerted MSM effort to sneer at that one. …
P.S.: Here is one of the better passages:
P.P.P.S.: And Palin does have a track record in the anti-corporatist department, as someone named Ralph Nader pointed out. …
It took a concerted MSM effort to sneer at that one. …
P.S.: Here is one of the better passages:
We sent a new class of leaders to D.C., but immediately the permanent political class tried to co-opt them – because the reality is we are governed by a permanent political class, until we change that. They talk endlessly about cutting government spending, and yet they keep spending more. They talk about massive unsustainable debt, and yet they keep incurring more. They spend, they print, they borrow, they spend more, and then they stick us with the bill. Then they pat their own backs, and they claim that they faced and “solved” the debt crisis that they got us in, but when we were humiliated in front of the world with our country’s first credit downgrade, they promptly went on vacation.
No, they don’t feel the same urgency that we do. But why should they? For them business is good; business is very good. Seven of the ten wealthiest counties are suburbs of Washington, D.C. Polls there actually – and usually I say polls, eh, they’re for strippers and cross country skiers – but polls in those parts show that some people there believe that the economy has actually improved. See, there may not be a recession in Georgetown, but there is in the rest of America.
Yeah, the permanent political class – they’re doing just fine. Ever notice how so many of them arrive in Washington, D.C. of modest means and then miraculously throughout the years they end up becoming very, very wealthy? Well, it’s because they derive power and their wealth from their access to our money – to taxpayer dollars. They use it to bail out their friends on Wall Street and their corporate cronies, and to reward campaign contributors, and to buy votes via earmarks. There is so much waste. And there is a name for this: It’s called corporate crony capitalism. This is not the capitalism of free men and free markets, of innovation and hard work and ethics, of sacrifice and of risk. No, this is the capitalism of connections and government bailouts and handouts, of waste and influence peddling and corporate welfare. This is the crony capitalism that destroyed Europe’s economies. It’s the collusion of big government and big business and big finance to the detriment of all the rest – to the little guys. It’s a slap in the face to our small business owners – the true entrepreneurs, the job creators accounting for 70% of the jobs in America, it’s you who own these small businesses, you’re the economic engine, but you don’t grease the wheels of government power.
So, do you want to know why the permanent political class doesn’t really want to cut any spending? Do you want to know why nothing ever really gets done? It’s because there’s nothing in it for them. They’ve got a lot of mouths to feed – a lot of corporate lobbyists and a lot of special interests that are counting on them to keep the good times and the money rolling along. [E.A.]
P.P.S. it was a good speech–that- a) roused the Tea Party while
- b) also resonating with the anger of a lot of Dems, including Occupy types and
- c) contained a large measure of truth. Is Mitt Romney capable of giving that sort of speech? …
P.P.P.S.: And Palin does have a track record in the anti-corporatist department, as someone named Ralph Nader pointed out. …

Afterburner with Bill Whittle: Three and a Half Days
Mayor Bloomberg turned up the tough talk on the Occupy Wall Street protesters: Treat the neighborhood with respect or a crackdown is coming.
“No one should think that we won’t take actions that we think are appropriate when we think they are appropriate,” Bloomberg told reporters Wednesday.
“This isn’t an occupation of Wall Street,” Bloomberg said. “It’s an occupation of a growing, vibrant residential neighborhood in lower Manhattan.”
The protesters and hundreds of metal NYPD barricades are “really hurting small businesses and families.”
City Hall officials declined to discuss what actions Bloomberg may take — or his breaking point.

Griffon Vultures Hits Russian Paraglider, Both "Land" Safely
Miraculously, both the paraglider and the bird survived in this case.
Here’s the YouTube summary:
Here’s the YouTube summary:
A Russian paraglider’s first Himalayan flight could well have been his last after he collided with a griffon vulture mid-air and his canopy became tangled. Luckily, he managed to open the emergency parachute and land safely. But what about the bird? Paravoffka – the nickname of the survivor in the paragliding community – gained control of the deadly situation, which saved not only his life, but that of the bird as well. The fact that the sportsman landed without any trauma was a real miracle, as landing with an emergency parachute is highly dangerous – one can get hit against rocks or fall on to a tree. Seconds after the successful landing, the pilot called his friends on the walkie-talkie and then made an attempt to free the bird, no-less-frightened than himself. That was not an easy task to do: the claws were tightly tangled in the canopy. But finally the bird was freed and flew away. The dangerous flight was caught on video, with the number of views skyrocketing hour after hour.Watch closely…the birds hit at about four seconds in.

YouTube Confirms 100 New Channels To Launch
YouTube have confirmed ongoing rumours that they are to challenge the online broadcasting market with a range of exclusive channels, revealing that no less than 100 online channels are penned in for release over the coming months.
The Google-owned company have revealed that the channels will together accumulate 25 hours of original programming each week, in a bid to attract users to their online broadcasting service, and they will not be short of big-name attractions to help them do that when these updates arrive.
Numerous celebrities have pledged their support to the various projects, with Madonna, Ashton Kutcher, Jay-Z, Tony Hawk, Stan Lee, and Shaquille O’Neal all involved either through endorsement or direct affiliation. The latter three will be involved in specific launches soon, with ‘Ride’, ‘World of Heroes’, and a currently un-named ‘urban comedy’ channel.
YouTube will probably be spending quite a bit of a promised $100m investment into original content, with big-name producers (including those responsible for The Office and CSI), content providers and existing partners tasked with bringing new viewing options to online viewers. The move will also benefit from high-profile online brands launching their own channels, with Reuters, The Wall Street Journal, The Onion, WWE, and Red Bull looking to make an impact, while a host of others will want to build on their reputation with an original YouTube channel.
YouTube’s global head of content partnerships Robert Kyncl said that the channel launches will be an innovative new platform for viewers and advertisers alike, and wrote in a blog on the developments in the industry: “…Wonderful things can happen when cool technology meets great entertainment. Cable television expanded our viewing possibilities from just a handful of channels to hundreds, and brought us some of the most defining media experiences of the last few decades – think MTV, ESPN and CNN. Today, the web is bringing us entertainment from an even wider range of talented producers, and many of the defining channels of the next generation are being born, and watched, on YouTube. The first of these new original channels will appear on YouTube starting next month and will continue over the next year. They’ll be available to you on any internet-connected device, anywhere in the world, with all the interactivity and social features of YouTube built right in.”
The list of confirmed channels on YouTube can be seen on their official page, but how much of an impact will they have in the online TV market?
For former professional skateboarder Tony Hawk, it will not be his first foray onto a major YouTube event in recent times, as he featured in a guest appearance on hit webshow EpicMealTime, attempting to eat a ‘Fast Food Pizza Cake’ that was made to celebrate their first anniversary:
