Recycling Terrorists

Oops! Freed GITMO alumni plotted Christmas airliner bombing ...

From an astonished I am sure, ABC News:

Two of the four leaders allegedly behind the al Qaeda plot to blow up a Northwest Airlines passenger jet over Detroit were released by the U.S. from the Guantanamo prison in November, 2007, according to American officials and Department of Defense documents.

American officials agreed to send the two terrorists to Saudi Arabia where they entered into an "art therapy rehabilitation program" and were set free, according to U.S. and Saudi officials.

Gee, who would have expected "GITMO beachside therapy" to fail on terrorists?

And if this isn't enough, Obama was going to send 81 of the Yemeni GITMO terrorists back to Yemen. Easy al Qaeda recruits. Does everyone see the stupidity of releasing the GITMO terrorists, or is it just me thinking that sounds like a really, really bad idea.

Drunk With Power

The one thing that lying drunks like this one always forgets, what goes around comes around --- Must be something scaring the crap out of these Democrats.

So there you know what Democrats do in their cloak room.

Now that your lying parrot media sits in the corner wheezing it's last, what you gonna do next.

Apropriate Toons

After Christmas Reflection

P. J. O'Rourke -- Parliament of Whores: A Lone Humorist Attempts To Explain The Entire U. S. Government Atlantic Monthly Press, 1991
“I have only one firm belief about the American political system, and that is this: God is a Republican and Santa Claus is a Democrat. God is an elderly or, at any rate, middle-aged male, a stern fellow, patriarchal rather than paternal and a great believer in rules and regulations. He holds men strictly accountable for their actions. He has little apparent concern for the material well-being of the disadvantaged. He is politically connected, socially powerful and holds the mortgage on virtually everything in the world.

God is difficult. God is unsentimental. It is very hard to get into God’s heavenly country club. Santa Claus is another matter. He’s cute. He is nonthreatening. He’s always cheerful. And he loves animals. He may know who’s been naughty and who’s been nice, but he never does anything about it. He gives everyone everything they want without thought of a quid pro quo. He works hard for charities, and he’s famously generous to the poor.

Santa Claus is preferable to God in every way but one: There is no such thing as Santa Claus.” -- PJ O’Rourke, Parliament of Whores

It has never been clearer to Americans than it is now.

What's Going On In Iran

The disinterested US lamestream media is an outright disgrace to humanity.

The lamestream media reported that the prisoners were rescued by relatives but it looks more like the whole town helped with the rescue. The Western media also said that the regime shot dead two “gunmen” but the only ones with guns in the video are the regime's brutal thugs.

NCR-Iran reported on the the prisoner rescue:
On Tuesday, December 22, the scene of a public hanging of two prisoners, Esmail Fathi-Zadeh and Mohammad Esfandiarpoor, in Sirjan turned into a confrontation between protesting people and the suppressive forces. Local residents and families of the two prisoners confronted the suppressive forces by hurling stones and chanting slogans.
Stones and chants are not much match for the brutal regime's guns.

This ia an absolute disgrace to the word jourlaism.

Video: Nebraska Governor Tells Dem Senator Nelson to Give Back His Bribe to Harry Reid

The Shirelles - Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow

In 1960, The Shirelles released their version as Scepter single 1211, with "Boys" on the B-side. When first presented with the song, lead singer Shirley Owens (later known as Shirley Allston-Reeves) did not want to record it, because she thought it was "too country." She relented after a string arrangement was added. In 1961, the song went to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. However, Owens recalled on Jim Parsons' syndicated oldies radio program, Shake Rattle Showtime, that some radio stations had banned the record because they had felt the lyrics were too sexually charged.

This version of the song is currently ranked as the 101st greatest song of all time, as well as the best song of 1960, by Acclaimed Music.

The Shangri Las -- The Leader Of The Pack

"Leader of the Pack" is a 1964 pop song recorded by girl group The Shangri-Las. It became number one on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 28, 1964.

The tune was credited to producer George "Shadow" Morton with Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich. According to Morton, he wrote the song for the Goodies (also known as the Bunnies[2]), but instead it was needed as a follow-up to the Shangri-Las hit "Remember (Walking in the Sand)".

The Ronettes - One Hit wonders

One hit wonders - "Be My Baby" is a 1963 single written by Phil Spector, Jeff Barry, and Ellie Greenwich, performed by the Ronettes and produced by Spector. When released as a single, the song reached #2 on the U.S. Billboard Pop Singles Chart and #4 on the UK’s Record Retailer.

As sung by The Ronettes the song is #22 on Rolling Stone’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In 1999 it was inducted in the Grammy Hall of Fame, and in 2006, the Library of Congress honored their version by adding it to the United States National Recording Registry.

WHOA ... MS Hit Hard, Word Users Take Brunt

A federal appeals court on Tuesday upheld a $290 million judgment against Microsoft Corp. and issued an injunction that will prevent the sale of its popular Word software.

The court injunction is set to go into effect Jan. 11. Microsoft has said such a bar would prohibit the sale of all currently available versions of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Office.

Microsoft had appealed a Texas jury verdict in favor of i4i Inc., a Toronto company. The jury found recent versions of Microsoft Word infringed on a software patent.

This is going to MS crimp sales ...

Renewable Energy

Who knew, the laws of physics don't apply to Democrats and their 'renewable energy claims'.

The Law of Conservation of Energy states that energy cannot be created or destroyed, but can change its form.

The total quantity of matter and energy available in the universe is a fixed amount and never any more or less.

So no matter how much Democrats flap their gums, there is no such thing as renewable energy. And so DiFi weighs in: Desert Vistas vs. Solar Power
Mrs. Feinstein has long championed desert preservation, sponsoring legislation in 1994 that created Death Valley and Joshua Tree national parks and the Mojave National Preserve. Five years later, she pushed for federal money to help acquire nearly 500,000 acres owned by Catellus.

........

When Mr. Myers became aware that solar and wind developers had applied to lease federal land that included the former Catellus holdings, he contacted the senator

Here’s the money quote:
“If all this solar development took place in the Mojave, the higher you climb the more industrialized the vistas would look,” Mr. Myers said recently as he walked past bighorn sheep tracks and scrambled up a peak overlooking the Trilobite Wilderness Area.

Mr. Myers stresses that he is not against large-scale solar power plants but prefers that they be concentrated on already disturbed farmlands. In recent months, he said, he has worked with solar developers to find alternative sites.

But of course Democrats can lie about the need for energy independence, while at the same time denying access to the USA's vast store of fossil fuels -- According to the EIA our fossil fuels proved reserves are over twice those available to the second most prolific country, Saudi Arabia. Lie is what Democrats do. The rest of the time they are engaged in bribe and steal.

Gun Sales Skyrocket, Murders Drop

Lamestream media is perplexed, isn't the streets supposed to run red with blood about now?

Experts are scratching their heads over why crime has ebbed during this recession, making it different from other economic downturns of the past half-century. Early guesses include jobless folks at home keeping closer watch for thieves, or extra benefits keeping people from resorting to crime.

Preliminary figures gathered by the FBI for the first six months of 2009 show crime falling across the country — at a time when many experts and police officials had expected crime to rise under the pressure of high unemployment, foreclosures and layoffs.

Murder and manslaughter dropped a surprising 10 percent for the first half of the year, according to the FBI's data.

"That's a remarkable decline, given the economic conditions," said Richard Rosenfeld, a sociologist at the University of Missouri-St. Louis who has studied crime trends.

Chavez's New Federal Police Force

The new federal police will try and stop the crime, caused by the government's own policies and executioners ... LOL -- Next the gulags will open. I wonder when they voted for Chavez, did they think this far ahead?

President Hugo Chavez launched a federal police force on Sunday that he hopes will change the overwhelmingly negative image most Venezuelans have of their public security forces while reducing crime in one of Latin America's most violent countries.

"We are going to defeat crime," Chavez told uniformed cadets belonging to the newly formed National Bolivarian Police Force during his weekly television and radio show. "We are tackling one of our population's most sensitive problems: crime prevention."

Chavez greeted and shook hands with the officers before they began patrolling in Catia, one of the most dangerous districts of Caracas.

The 950-agent force will initially operate in the capital's most crime-ridden neighborhoods, but the government plans to boost the number of officers to 6,000 and extend its reach beyond Caracas by the end of next year.

Got to admit, the president giving a speech about supporting a known fraud does look weird.

In case you had any doubts what was going on at last weeks summit about the climate, fiorget the climate and watch the video:

I still haven't figured out why the commies were rolling around in the streets, have you?

Urp!!

Al Gore gets the last bite.

EPIC FAIL, yet the UN says we have a deal, and Obama says here, take this $100 billion s year from the US Taxpayers.

And why doesn't anyone want to talk about the FRAUD, the rugged temperature charts, the faked emergency, you know the usual things lefties do, lie cheat and steal.

The talks failed because China says it violates their country's sovereignty. Obama says what sovereignty, the USA has none, why should you.

Revolution

Not all revolutions are bad, nor are all revolutions based to the premise that Marxism or Communism will succeed. Some revolutions are based on freedom and liberty prevailing.

Americans are catching on to Hoax-N-Haaagen -- A recent Rasmussen survey showed 59 percent contend it is at least somewhat likely that some scientists could have falsified their research in an effort to bolster global warming claims. The poll found little confidence in climate research carried out by the United Nations. Just 22 percent said they consider the global body a reliable source for global warming information, while 49 percent said it is not reliable. Another 29 percent said they weren't sure.

While in fact man-caused global warming is a complete hoax:
  • The greenhouse signature that all computer models forecast will be in the upper atmosphere around the equator is missing
  • The land temperature record has been faked
  • The CO2 driven greenhouse effect is false - CO2 as a gas is simply not capable of doing what the computer models say it can, there is no positive feedback
Enjoy your Schadenfreude as the worldwide CO2 hoax collapses, faster than the Hoax-N-Hagen talks do.

Merry ho ho ho Christmas.

Atlanta: Crime Rate On Public Transportation Down, After CCW Ban Lifted.

I wonder what is it about gun free zone that liberals don't understand.

The Georgia General Assembly passed HB 89 in 2008, which made criminal prohibitions on carrying firearms on public transportation, in restaurants that serve alcohol, in state parks, and in wildlife management areas inapplicable to Georgians possessing a firearms license. HB 89 took effect on July 1, 2008, and many predicted mass bloodshed as a result. Nowhere was the controversy so acute as the city of Atlanta and its public transportation system. So at the end of 2009, it is worth a look to see what actually happened to crime rates on MARTA. Since July of 2008, there have been no news stories of blazing gun battles on MARTA, which would surely have been newsworthy events. That leaves interested researchers with the publicly available crime rates, and they tell a story at odds with the hysterical predictions of 2008.

Peace Prize

Sarah Palin -- Boycott Copenhagen

Any deal at the Copenhagen climate summit will be more about politics than science. President Obama should stay away.

With the publication of damaging emails from a climate research center in Britain, the radical environmental movement appears to face a tipping point. The revelation of appalling actions by so-called climate change experts allows the American public to finally understand the concerns so many of us have articulated on this issue.

"Climate-gate," as the emails and other documents from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia have become known, exposes a highly politicised scientific circle – the same circle whose work underlies efforts at the Copenhagen climate change conference. The agenda-driven policies being pushed in Copenhagen won't change the weather, but they would change our economy for the worse.

The emails reveal that leading climate "experts" deliberately destroyed records, manipulated data to "hide the decline" in global temperatures, and tried to silence their critics by preventing them from publishing in peer-reviewed journals. What's more, the documents show that there was no real consensus even within the CRU crowd. Some scientists had strong doubts about the accuracy of estimates of temperatures from centuries ago, estimates used to back claims that more recent temperatures are rising at an alarming rate.

This scandal obviously calls into question the proposals being pushed in Copenhagen. I've always believed that policy should be based on sound science, not politics. As governor of Alaska, I took a stand against politicised science when I sued the federal government over its decision to list the polar bear as an endangered species despite the fact that the polar bear population had more than doubled. I got clobbered for my actions by radical environmentalists nationwide, but I stood by my view that adding a healthy species to the endangered list under the guise of "climate change impacts" was an abuse of the US Endangered Species Act. This would have irreversibly hurt both Alaska's economy and the nation's, while also reducing opportunities for responsible development.

Our representatives in Copenhagen should remember that good environmental policymaking is about weighing real-world costs and benefits – not pursuing a political agenda. That's not to say I deny the reality of some changes in climate – far from it. I saw the impact of changing weather patterns firsthand while serving as governor of our only Arctic state. I was one of the first governors to create a subcabinet to deal specifically with the issue and to recommend common-sense policies to respond to the coastal erosion, thawing permafrost and retreating sea ice that affect Alaska's communities and infrastructure.

But while we recognize the occurrence of these natural, cyclical environmental trends, we can't say with assurance that man's activities cause weather changes. We can say, however, that any potential benefits of proposed emissions reduction policies are far outweighed by their economic costs. And those costs are real. Unlike the proposals China and India offered prior to Copenhagen – which actually allow them to increase their emissions – President Obama's proposal calls for serious cuts in our own long-term carbon emissions. Meeting such targets would require Congress to pass its cap-and-tax plans, which will result in job losses and higher energy costs (as Obama admitted during the campaign). That's not exactly what most Americans are hoping for these days. And as public opposition continues to stall Congress's cap-and-tax legislation, Environmental Protection Agency bureaucrats plan to regulate carbon emissions themselves, doing an end run around the American people.

In fact, we're not the only nation whose people are questioning climate change schemes. In the European Union, energy prices skyrocketed after it began a cap-and-tax programme. Meanwhile, Australia's parliament recently defeated a cap-and-tax bill. Surely other nations will follow suit, particularly as the climate email scandal continues to unfold.

In his inaugural address, President Obama declared his intention to "restore science to its rightful place." But instead of staying home from Copenhagen and sending a message that the US will not be a party to fraudulent scientific practices, the president has upped the ante. He plans to fly in at the climax of the conference in hopes of sealing a "deal." Whatever deal he gets, it will be no deal for the American people. What Obama really hopes to bring home from Copenhagen is more pressure to pass the Democrats' cap-and-tax proposal. This is a political move. The last thing America needs is misguided legislation that will raise taxes and cost jobs – particularly when the push for such legislation rests on agenda-driven science.

Without trustworthy science and with so much at stake, Americans should be wary about what comes out of this politicised conference. The president should boycott Copenhagen.

The U.S. Supreme Court And the AGW Scam

Remember in 1972 when the EPA found DDT was harmful, to whom they never said, how it was harmful never said, and what real science was it based on never said. They just said it was harmful and so it was ordained harmful.

WHO in 2006, after 30 plus years of trying, could find anything harmful from DDT. Yes that WHO. -- Couldn't find a thing about DDT harmful to anything. And so WHO authorized it's use again, all hell in libturd land broke loose, they then reduced their finding to limited use.

In the meantime, since 1972 between 30-40 million Africans, mostly children under the age of 5, died of malaria. Libturds and their junk science can be very disastrous.

The arguments before rendering the CO2 decision were hot and furious. Thomas Jefferson quotes are in order ...
”It is a very dangerous doctrine to consider the judges as the ultimate arbiters of all constitutional questions,”

“It is one which would place us under the despotism of an oligarchy.”
In a very carefully weasel worded tortured 5-4 opinion — The Supreme Court said “MAY find” it did not find that CO2 “IS harmful”. So they deferred to the now discredited UN/IPCC and HAD/CRU where we now know they faked the data. I suspect in light of the recent exposure of the AGW fraud, the SC may want a do over.

Here is the introductory part of the SC CO2 decision, the judges playing scientist, wrongheaded on all counts:

MASSACHUSETTS v. EPA

Opinion of the Court

JUSTICE STEVENS delivered the opinion of the Court.

A well documented rise in global temperatures has coincided with a significant increase in the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Respected scientists believe the two trends are related. For when carbon dioxide is released into the atmosphere, it acts like the ceiling of a greenhouse, trapping solar energy and retarding the escape of reflected heat. It is therefore a species—the most important species—of a “greenhouse gas.”

Calling global warming “the most pressing environmental challenge of our time,” a group of States, local governments, and private organizations, alleged in a petition for certiorari that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has abdicated its responsibility under the Clean Air Act to regulate the emissions of four greenhouse gases, including carbon dioxide. Specifically, petitioners asked us to answer two questions concerning the meaning of §202(a)(1) of the Act: whether EPA has the statutory authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions from new motor vehicles; and if so, whether its stated reasons for refusing to do so are consistent with the statute.

In response, EPA, supported by 10 intervening States and six trade associations, correctly argued that we may not address those two questions unless at least one petitioner has standing to invoke our jurisdiction under Article III of the Constitution. Notwithstanding the serious character of that jurisdictional argument and the absence of any conflicting decisions construing §202(a)(1), the unusual importance of the underlying issue persuaded us to grant the writ. 548 U. S. __ (2006).

The complete decision PDf is here. You may observe how the SC's finding does not match today's EPA actions. The SC tossed in well respected, for a big laugh today. You may also note that the 'ceiling' referred to, Al Gore warm blanket, scientifically referred to as the greenhouse signature, is completely missing from attempts to find same. Multiple teams with weather balloons have come up empty, and it does not appear in the satellite data. JoNava has a novice level paper that explains the whole AGW scam at JoNova.Com.Au

Words mean things, and often not what they mean, is what is being done.

Ten Best Selling Autos, November 2009

November was another slightly positive month for most automakers, over the lows of 2008 so don't get too excited, as companies like Hyundai, Subaru, and Nissan saw impressive gains of 46%, 24% and 21% respectively. Ford and GM remained relatively flat but Chrysler was one of the few companies still seeing a huge decline compared to November of last year. Sales slid again by 25%. It’s down 38% for the year to date.

Chrysler’s woes hit the top ten as its venerable Dodge Ram pickup is still bumped from the list selling fewer than 10,000 units in November despite an expensive advertising blitz.

CBS News on Climategate: ‘…skeptics have finally found their voice.’

The MSM can’t ignore the growing scandal of Climategate forever, and CBS News manages to finally acknowledge skeptics without dissing them, and even links to the now famous Minnesotans For Global Warming’s “Hide The Decline” Video:

Even before the massive East Anglia document leak, the odds of an agreement being reached at Copenhagen appear to have been narrowing. Throw in a Fox News report about the U.N. and global governance and some black YouTube humor, and it looks like climate change skeptics have finally found their voice. And scientists and politicians endorsing dramatic limits on economic growth to limit carbon dioxide have been reminded where the burden of proof properly lies.

Climate Fraud

Professor Ian Plimer condemned the climate change lobby as “climate comrades” keeping the “gravy train” going. In a talk just days before the start of a Hope-n-hagen climate summit attended by world leaders in Copenhagen, Prof Plimer said
Governments were treating the public like “fools” and using climate change to increase taxes.

He said carbon dioxide has had no impact on temperature and that recent warming was part of the natural cycle of climate stretching over billions of years.

If you have to argue your science by using fraud, your science is not valid.
